Our mural was rejected twice?

Wow just wow niantic, a mural of another fraternity was accepted yet ours was rejected? Ours was there since 2013. Many pass by some stay beside it because of a store. Trash judging

I am sorry to hear all this, but which one reject your nomination? Is it “team” or “community” . If its team , it probably means AI reject your nomination. but community means local wayfarer in your area although that could include neighbouring country as well.

I am having trouble seeing this “art” as something more than grafitti. Do you have more information about it? Being old doesnt mean its eligible. The onus is on submitter to present as many evidence as posible to convince reviewer. If you willing to provide full detail on your nomination(photo, surrounding photo, description, title, supporting info, location), we might be able to advise on how to improve it.

Without seeing the photo of the accepted wayspot it is very difficult (i.e., impossible) to comment on whether it meets criteria. it might be an actual official mural or it might be graffiti which slipped through the system.

Although this may not be obvious, you cannot use existing wayspots to justify new ones, as existing ones might not be eligible if resubmitted. You should always go by the current criteria guidelines.

Regarding the not permanent and distinct rejection reason, which I suspect you got, this is a combination of three possible rejections - the object is not permanent, the object is not visually distinct and the object doesn’t meet any of the core criteria (Exercise, Exploration, Social). This will be the most common rejection for graffiti, which is what your picture is.

I understand wanting to vent. But if you would like advice on why this may have been rejected, we can help better if you show us screenshots of your contribution. The rejection reason will be at the top near the “Not Accepted” message. It helps if we can see both photos, all the text, and the location.

Murals and Street Art
Murals are great works of art and therefore eligible along with street art. Each mural should be a single Wayspot unless it has sections that tell a distinct enough story or are physically separate. Works that are considered vandalism would not qualify.

The mural above is a great example of a large-scale mural in a public place that highlights an event of importance to the community, and is most likely commissioned.

This mural (above) is a great example of street art that is distinct, unique, tells a story, and uses unique materials to create artistic value.

The street art pictured above may have initially been a good example, but due to the overwhelming number of names and different styles added to this piece, there is evidence to suggest it is not an intentional work of art and is therefore not eligible.

Its probably better to focus you photo on the insignia portion of the mural, since the right words present as vandilism graffiti.
