I have suggested a pokestop, which was rejected, so far so good. the reason for the rejection was: The text or the photo contains abusive, taunting or harassing content about a particular person or group of people. The proposal was a graphitation on a house wall, where you can’t see taunting, abusive and/or harassing content.
So I then appealed and tried to refute this reason, then this rejection was examined and there was the reason The description contains spelling or grammar errors or is incorrect.
A day later, I get a warning! Because I would have violated the guidelines, the reason is: bad quality.
Graffiti is not hostile to people or groups of people, nor have I found grammar or wording errors in the description. But to take “bad quality” as a reason for warning, even though there were other reasons for the rejection, horrified me on many levels. I invested hours in evaluating and suggesting Pokestops just so that I could get a warning about “bad quality.”
Now my question to you, have I done anything wrong in your eyes? Please be honest!" I just want to understand it…
Welcome to the forum. So sorry it was under these circumstances.
That rejection reason is just the way the abuse string reads. It could have nothing to do with text, like a misplaced pin or a third party photo.
If you would like our opinions as fellow explorers on whether this nomination was correctly flagged as abuse, we would need to see screenshots from your contributions page.
Hello @ohmorty
You need to wait for the images to fully finish uploading before posting.
Wait until it is like this
Thanks! I’ve now done it correctly:)
"I uploaded screenshots.
Vandalism type graffiti isn’t eligible, that’s why this happened.
There is a criteria clarification on graffiti art and murals which shows what should be submitted/accepted vs what is vandalism and should be rejected: Unique Art
You also mentioned “trainers” in your description, which is also a reason to have this rejected.
Okay the nomination was for vandalism, and the description is trying to call this art. The rejection for using the game term “trainers” is just one of the reasons this could be correctly rejected. There has not been a clarification that graffiti is acceptable. I think this was correctly rejected, and it seems appropriate to send a warning message to you that trying to misrepresent the point of interest is considered abuse.
Do you have the warning message still that you could screenshot for us? To make sure we have covered the issue mentioned? This may have just been an educational email intended to help you understand criteria.
Okay, I understand, thank you very much! I thought this graffiti wouldn’t be a problem😅
Luckily, I asked here, as I can understand it now. Many lovely thanks again!
Oops, I’m not the best in English, unfortunately, and that’s where “trainer” should be. I speak German and have accidentally hung the “s” behind the word. Thank you!
With graffiti art, try to think would the building owner or local council be removing this and repairing the paintwork, or would they encourage it and love having it painted there? That’s probably a good way to consider what is possibly eligible.
In this case, if I saw this on the side of my building, I’d be really annoyed and would want it immediately removed.
Trainer refers to Pokemon Go right? That kind of terminology (including pokestop, pikachu etc) shouldn’t be in the description or title unless it’s relevant to the nomination (for example submitting a pikachu mural)
The reason for this is that these points of interest we submit can end up in several different games - Pokemon Go is only one of them! So the titles and descriptions have to work for any game
That’s understandable, next time I’ll ask for advice here if I want to suggest a pokestop:) Thank you really for your quick and good help, you’re great!
We love helping so definitely come back if you want to get any other advice ![]()
I will definitely do that! ![]()
Okay, that’s crazy, I didn’t know that ![]()
It isn’t clear in the nomination screen. The contribution button says you are submitting a new Pokestop, and the prompts ask why it would be a good Pokestop. But you are actually submitting a Wayspot that may or may not be used in Pokemon Go. It is very confusing, and not at all clear that there should not be any reference to Pokemon terms in the nomination.
