Rejection on a Pokestop that needs to be updated

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Kay You Bust
  • Location (lat/lon): 35°47’01.5"N 78°40’13.1"W
  • City: Raleigh
  • Country: USA
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):
  • Additional Information (if any): This Pokestop is called the Kay You Bust, which honors NC State University’s Women’s Basketball Head Coach, Kay Yow, who was Head Coach from 1975 until her untimely death from cancer in 2009. Originally, there was a bust here that honored her, however, it is now a statue, and I have been rejected from my photo of the statue, even though the bust is no longer there, and has been replaced with a statue, so I am trying to update the pokestop with the most current information.

Hey there, appeals for any kind of contribution except for rejected removal reports are to be done with the appeal button on the wayfarer website, not over the forum.

(She isn’t Kay YOU, she is Kay Yow.) I just got an edit for this and rejected the change to statue because Wayfarer showed me a bust.

@NianticAaron would this be considered repurposing to change the bust Wayspot to the statue?

@hedgewolf18 welcome to the forum! I have tagged staff to be sure, but I think the correct thing to do here would be to report the bust for removal and submit the statue as a new Wayspot. The removal report will most likely be rejected and you will need to come back here to present evidence like geotagged photos or news articles that it has been removed and replaced.

If the statue is dedicated to the same person and exists at the same location, we can edit the Wayspot.

Then @hedgewolf18 you can appeal this as @kawin240 says from your contributions page. Be sure to include any links you can find to prove this bust has been replaced by the statue.

You can also appeal the rejected photo.

You get two appeals, each with a 20 day countdown timer before you can use them again. So pick what you want to appeal with that in mind.

I believe autoswipe did that, yes it is called Kay YOW Bust, but it is a statue now and no longer a bust.

Thank you all, I have appealed it. The bust was unveiled in 2010, and the statue was unveiled in September 2016, alongside other statues of coaches at the university, so I think the bust became a pokestop, then the bust was removed shortly afterwards and replaced with the statue.
