Removal of Drinkable Water Fountains in Spain

OK @David92, following your logic, I’m going to nominate the nearest sink that isn’t on private residential property. Sinks have taps with running water that is drinkable and thus, according to you, they must be a great place to exercise, because drinking water is somehow equivalent to actual exercise.

Does my suggestion not seem just a little bit silly? I’m not trying to be harsh, but your comment seems to miss the point of the eligibility criteria, and comes across a bit of a strange argument.

We are generally a helpful bunch here and are more than willing to help out if you’re struggling with fully understanding the eligibility criteria. It wouldn’t be the first time someone has grabbed the wrong end of the stick, and it won’t be the last.

Insulated drinking flasks exist and are great at keeping warm things warm and cold things cold.

That does not encourage one to be social/exercise/explore, which we have reiterated several times already. I have an insulted water bottle right next to me right now and am using it from time to time, but I’m at home and sitting down. It’s not encouraging me to do anything but get a drink of water when needed.

I am going to put this discussion in slo- mode to try and allow a little longer between posts.

Hola @javiercarpro

I didn’t mean to attack anyone and my apologies if it seemed that way, it’s not something I’m going to put my life into either, I just think it goes against the spirit of the game to go against those stops, since they seem to me to be the most useful as they are games dedicated to going out for a walk, however I understand and respect that there are other ways to play.

Like noted earlier, Wayferer is not game specific. What we are doing for Wayfarer is nominating interesting POIs to be added to the database map, which each game uses to determine game play locations.v The map is also used by developers of other apps and software.

Each game also have their own density/inclusion rules, so not all approved Wayspots get into each game, but they do get added to the map. So, it’s possible that some water fountains that weren’t in any of the games may have gotten removed from the map without any players even knowing, as they never met the density/inclusion rules.

I’m not really aware of the disappearance of these points in my environment; I’m more concerned about whether absolutely all sources will disappear. However, I understand that original sources shouldn’t be a reason for rejection. My English is Google-friendly. I say this because I sense previous comments seemed hostile, and that wasn’t my intention.

You are welcome to use whatever language you are most comfortable with here, as there is a translator. Mega replied to you in Spanish, and there is a globe icon that allows me, an English user, to translate it from Spanish to English.

Not all Wayspot removals affect all, and some are region-specific. While I haven’t seen any removals where I am in the US, I know that there have been removals in different parts of the world, such as fake trail markers in different parts of Europe. These removals are also done by staff after a thorough review, so they are not removed just to be removed.

Well IMHO, this kind of thing nd to be reviewed case by case basis. Personally i would submit water fountain if they are distinct and artistic enough. There are other thing similar like gateway or place name sign thats quite common and looks generic which is hard to get approved

Yes. Most of the comments acknowledge that highly decorative or historically significant fountains can be eligible.
