This submission was marked for removal, as it is a framed photograph inside of an office suite or apartment unit. It is clearly hung on the wall, and not a permanent fixture. It has no historical or cultural significance and has been in the game for years. It does not have any connection to the historical building in which it allegedly resides in.
This submission does not meet past or present Wayfarer criteria, and is not publicly accessible to obtain validation that it even exists.
Due to the fact that it does not have any apparent significance and can not be accessed or validated by the general public, I am requesting that it be removed so that other surrounding Waypoints that do meet the criteria and can be validated can be added in its place.
Wow this is an interesting one, and I have this topic set to follow. The portal does not have a description, so must be very old. I donât see any evidence that this is more than decoration. It could be on any floor in any random office in this building, i think i see 12, or it could not exist at all.
The normal protocol is to submit geotagged photos showing it isnât there, but even if you could get into the building, would you have to get into every office on every floor? I am very interested in how the team decides this.
I just dove into this one as well. I was wondering if it was art in the lobby or an another public area. But the images on the website donât show this.
But just a photo in a frame does not make it qualify. The clarification is for âUniqueâ Art - which you cut off in your screenshot. And goes on to say
A decoration on a wall is not âUnique Artâ and does not meet criteria.
Had to look up the address, and this does appear to be an apartment building. Yes, there are some businesses listed, but they seem to possibly be home businesses. Street View shows last summer there were a few Now Leasing signs up around the building.
Now, itâs possible that the actual art piece is in a public area of the building, as there is controlled access for residents and unique works of art in the rec room; the artist is from MA and their art could be around the New England area. This hasnât been proven that itâs just a reprint in a frame, as it could be the actual piece of art and a resident or worker for the rental company may have nominated it.
For sure more proof seems to be needed to remove this, such as photos from inside the building, possibly geotagged ones.
