They are doing the same in our city. It started 3 weeks ago. Each day after 20 they remove portion of pokestops, legal pokestops, gyms. Our local community have tired to add them back or add new but it only ended up for us to be marked by them as trouble makers and they now keep removing our legal approved pokestops after a few days.
This would be the result of the game staff processing removal reports… which is not a sure thing, even when the removal is legitimate. I have been trying to get three stops removed (part of a former cluster of 14 at a school) for a week now….
The fact that it happens at a particular time is not the players, either. The game map (and separately the Wayfarer map) do a single, massive update once per day, that must just be the timing in your time zone. For my area it’s usually around lunchtime.
Welcome to the forum @BardzoCzarnyKot
If you think legitimate wayspots have been removed, you can create your own thread in the appeals section detailing which wayspots have been removed and providing evidence that they do exist and are valid. If Niantic agrees with you, they’ll restore the wayspots without need for them to be resubmitted. If they stand by the decision to remove them, then they shouldn’t be resubmitted.
It’s just my pure observation. But it started when one guy in our city moved gym wayspot from one c14 to another. He didn’t like location of gym so he did it without us knowing about it. It resulted creation of the new gym and continuous city wayspot map disassemble by Niantic I guess. Probably his doing triggered some security protocol or whatever and now they are massively removing or moving wayspots it’s a nightmare!

Hello @BardzoCzarnyKot
So that this does not interfere with the admin around these formal appeals, I will create a new topic for you and move it to General Discussion
If Niantic keeps removing your Pokestops then there is very likely some issue with your Pokestop which you don’t realise. Niantic only remove Pokestops when they have evidence it meets the removal criteria.
If you share the examples here we could potentially help you identify why they might be being removed.
I don’t care I just want this digital quarantine to end. It’s never been like that. Either they have drastically changed their wayspot modus operandi or we are marked as suspicious and they keep punishing us. I won’t talk about it with them. They are probably to busy. I have applied for Pokemon Community Ambassador program one year ago and they never replied.

You don’t understand they keep removing or moving stuff present in the game almost since the day one. Nobody asked for it must be some organized activity form their side. Probably triggered by wayspot movement abuse of one particular gym.

Niantic does not remove Wayspots unless they have had evidence that the Wayspots should be removed or have had a request from a property owner to remove them. Just because they have been there a long time does not mean they meet current criteria. If the points of interest for the Wayspots that have been removed still exist, you can appeal for them to be restored in Wayspot Appeals with evidence.
This could indeed cause Niantic to reinforce rules around a particular area, both checking criteria and reinforcing inclusion rules if game locations were live that shouldn’t be.
Wayspots get removed if they are reported or Niantic are alerted to a problem and any of these apply:
- the wayspot POI does not exist
- the wayspot location is not safely accessible to anyone (e.g., in the middle of the road)
- the wayspot is clearly ineligible, not even borderline
Just because a wayspot was approved by the regional community does not mean it is eligible and does not mean it is “legal”, especially if there is any collaboration involved.
I’m very well aware of that. I have been adding them since the ancient times of the Ingress. What we are experiencing now is the purge. Probably c13 cells are affected when that happens but maybe larger.

If your area have many incorrectly approved wayspot, it could result in wayfarer remove them. Those incorrectly approved wayspot are just waiting on borrowed time until someone report them.sometime if niantic staff’s attention is brought to certain place, they might remove these incorrectly approved wayspot.
In the other hand, if you believe wayspot have been incorrectly removed, you can appeal for its removal
Right now the game is just reports, complaints, appeals. When is the time to play? Do we have to write every day and for every stop And there is no answer. Something has to change!
Hey how would I go about appealing the removal of a Library?
I was able to get a new gym around me added but it removed a Public Library that was nearby which I feel like shouldnt be the case done 2 pokestops in a certain area turn 1 into a gym?
thanks in advance
Make a new post in Wayspot Appeals and make your case that it should never have been removed. For real life reasons, not for game play reasons.
Please explain what you need?
Adding a stop shouldn’t cause another one that is already approved to disappear. It may have been some kind of coincidence.
As for gyms… Pokemon Go is believed to upgrade pokestops to gyms based on density on a certain GPS grid map. Within a “s14” grid you can have up to 64 live pokestops, and gyms are spawned at 2, 6, and 20.
But just two really close… they would have to be in the same grid, and not have another gym already. It’s totally possible to have a group of five or six stops with no gym, if they are all in part of one grid and there are others elsewhere in the same grid. It’s also possible that the two might be straddling a grid line with one in each grid…. there’s an apartment complex near me that used to be like this, both stops were the only stop in two different grids, but were less than 15 meters apart. (They are now both gyms after I added five stops in one grid and three in the other).
