Reporting wayspots that are correct, but not functioning properly in game.m

Not sure how to report this specific problem, we have a wayspot that appears as a Pokémon go gym in game, it is correctly named / placed, but is somehow broken and not working as intended. First, the gym appears in game but is not recognized by the campfire app at all. Second, the gym does not spawn raids or raid eggs of any kind, not during raid hour, major events, etc. Myself and many others in our local community meet near this gym 2-3 times a week (we usually get 20-30 people each raid hour) and many of us have tried reporting this gym in a variety of ways. Either fixing the gym or just plain getting it removed would be extremely helpful, as it is taking up a gym spot in a very popular lvl 14 cell.

All attempts at reported have been rejected

Welcome to the forum!

This sounds like what happens when the property owner has had raids turned off. This has happened to several gyms near me. Staff can confirm if this is the issue if you report in Bug Reports & Technical Support

Like this report I did: Long time gym in park not hosting raids

Campfire does not show gyms that do not host raids. Once raids are turned off, it takes some time to drop off the app.

Thanks for the quick reply! I had no idea this was a possibility, surely it would be better in almost every scenario for them to either remove the gym or downgrade it back to a stop? It’s basically just a stop right now anyways, and it prevents us from making more gyms in our towns most popular playing area. What is the correct way for us to report the gym or have it downgraded?

Also, this gym has been this way for over a year now, and the gym is a monument owned by the city, but I will still ask, thanks!

A wayspot in a public space can still be disabled if the property owner (the city for example) requests it. This can happen if large groups of people congregrating are causing a problem.

If the Wayspot meets removal criteria, then there is nothing you can do to have it removed. If you can find the right people to talk to who are in charge, they could make the request to have the Wayspot downgraded to a Pokestop - I have seen this happen from property owner requests, too - or ask them to request the Wayspot be removed completely so that the community can have a gym elsewhere.

We did not pursue any of these options because there are so many Pokestops, another would just become a gym and we would be back to the same issues that caused them to have raids turned off in the first place. I am hoping to avoid a complete geoblock where the town removes all game locations from the park.
