Request Location Edit from Wayfarer Support Chat

Hi,

I used this several months ago to get an incorrectly plotted wayspot moved. I have found another one that needs moving, but I can’t seem to find the chat option.

I found this page in the Help Center:

but when I completed the form, it just gave me this message:

and no ticket showing under the tickets section:

Is there something else I should be using?

I usually use Help Chat at Niantic Wayfarer and start a conversation in the text bubble that pops up.

I believe that “Support ticket history” is an add-on to save Help Chat conversations, but isn’t retroactive.

I have never used that Contact Us form. I have been told you can use the one linked at the top here under “Wayspot Removals” to make other modifications, but I haven’t used it for that.

The support ticket saver only saves the ticket on the device that you filed the ticket on. So, if you filed it on your laptop, for instance, you won’t see the ticket on your smartphone, and vise versa.

Also, the contact forms typically send you an email with a ticket number, and there won’t be any trace of a support ticket in the ticket saver add-on The ticket saver is only for help chat on the Wayfarer website, not any web form in the help pages. So, I’d check your email to see if you have gotten a ticket number assigned for your web form request, since you do have to provice an email address for staff to get back in touch with you anyways.

Thanks for your reply. I have discovered what the problem is. I have an add-on called Privacy Badger which was stopping the bubble from appearing.

TY for telling me this! Maybe a light bulb will turn on for me next time someone isn’t seeing the text box. :light_bulb:

It was on the same Laptop and browser (Firefox), but evidently I wasn’t using the correct means of contact, hence the ticket saver wasn’t working. I haven’t received a ticket via email from the contact form, so I will just repeat the process using the chat bubble instead. I have all the text and images saved so it shouldn’t be too difficult.

Maybe give it 24 hours or so before you submit a new ticket through help chat if you have already sent them the information?

Agree, give it some time. The ticket email doesn’t always get sent out right away; I have noticed a delay in the past.

Too late!

The help form didn’t ask me for any grid references, so that report / enquiry doesn’t have all of the information they would need and without a ticket reference I have no way of following that up if something goes wrong and I don’t hear anything.

I only twigged that might be the issue whilst I was out doing a route straight after my initial post. I should have realised that it was an add-on as either myself or others have encountered webpage functionality issues elsewhere and my first hunch usually proves to be correct that an ad-blocker is responsible!

I thought I’d share the reason for the edit with you as well. TLDR - the in-game wayspot looks like it is on land, but can’t be reached, because it is actually in the river; the actual POI location looks like it is in the river (according to online mapping), but is actually on land! Hopefully, they will agree to the edit:

"I have discovered that a POI (a trail information sign) has been inaccurately plotted so that it is inaccessible. The actual POI is located on the northern side of a footpath, but the in-game wayspot (Ock Valley Walk East) has been plotted on the southern side of the footpath. You can see from the wayspot photo that it is facing south-west, because the sun is shining on it, which would not be possible if it was facing north.

The footpath is inaccurately shown on maps in that location, because it is actually further south and is not right next to the northern channel of the River Ock. Both channels of the River Ock are not shown on the in-game map, but they are incorrectly shown on other maps in that location. They are actually further north. This means that the in-game wayspot is currently inaccessible, because it is actually in the southern channel of the river. The correct location of the trail information sign is shown to be in northern channel of the river on maps, whereas actually it is on land right next to the footpath. I have attached images below to show this.

Please could you edit the location of the in-game wayspot from the existing mapped location to its actual location as shown on the attached images.

Thanks for your help @cyndiepooh @DTrain2002 !
