Request to Restore a Removed PokéStop

Hello Niantic Team,

I would like to appeal the removal of the PokéStop “Plac zabaw”, located at Aleja 3 Maja 14, Chełm, Poland (51.119203,23.473440).

This Wayspot was removed as a duplicate, but this was a mistake. The playground at Aleja 3 Maja 14 is a separate, unique playground, different from the nearby playgrounds at Aleja 3 Maja 12 and 12a. To avoid confusion, the neighboring Wayspot has already been renamed with its correct address.

Importantly, this PokéStop was also the starting point of an official Niantic Route, which still exists in the game. Because the PokéStop was deleted, the route now appears incomplete, which negatively impacts gameplay and the experience of local players.

This playground fully meets Niantic’s criteria as a safe, public place that encourages outdoor activity and social interaction. I kindly ask for the restoration of this PokéStop so that both the Wayspot network and the Niantic Route function properly.

Photo 1 – Playground at Aleja 3 Maja 14 (the removed PokéStop)

This is the unique playground that was removed as a duplicate. It is a separate location and different from the nearby playgrounds.

Photo 2 – Playground at Aleja 3 Maja 12 (existing PokéStop)

This is a different playground, located nearby, but not the same as the playground at Aleja 3 Maja 14. The previous removal was a misunderstanding.

Photo 3 – Proof of existing Route

This screenshot shows that the removed PokéStop at Aleja 3 Maja 14 was the starting point of an official Route (“Bazylany Route”). Its removal broke the route, which affects gameplay for the community.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

I just typed the coordinates you shared for this wayspot into Google Maps and the pin is in the middle of a roundabout. I think you may have made a mistake with the coordinates.

I also believe you previously appealed this wayspot here:

Thanks for information, I will check coordinates later.

No, it’s not. There is a Wayspot connected to this same playground.

Thank you for your earlier reply. I would like to clarify this situation, as I believe there has been a misunderstanding.

I have attached a current screenshot from Pokémon GO at the location al. 3 Maja 14, Chełm, Poland. As you can see, there is no active PokéStop or Gym at this place anymore. This proves that the removed PokéStop was unique and not a duplicate of any other Wayspot.

Additionally, this playground is still physically present and fully accessible to the public. The PokéStop was also the starting point of an official Route in Pokémon GO, which is now broken after its removal.

For these reasons, I kindly ask you to reconsider restoring this PokéStop.

Thank you very much for your time and support.

Best regards,

The game screenshots do nothing to prove these are two separate playgrounds, both correctly pinned, for Wayfarer data. Since Ingress no longer updates, I can see on iitc that Plac zabaw cannot exist where it is pinned here.

and it certainly looks like the same playground as Osiedlowy plac zabaw

the red pin is at the coordinates you gave in the first post.

There’s also a third portal very close by. Ingress has Plac zabaw, Osiedlowy plac zabaw and Plac zabaw within a stone’s throw of each other.

oof i didn’t look far enough from that red pin! ty! and with several portals live in the same L17 S2 cell, the one that looks to be an exact duplicate of the northern Plac zabaw may not be showing for the OP. Here is a wider screenshot showing the western Plac zabaw

To the OP, you can check for Wayspots that don’t show in Pokemon Go with the toggle on in the nomination map screen. It will show any Wayspots that are not live in Pokemon Go as exclamation points, but you have to be right at the location physically for it to work.

Not all Wayspots become PokéStops or Gyms. Each game has their own set of criteria for inclusion into the gameboard, so some Wayspots may exist in the database but may not appear as PokéStops or Gyms.

This is not correct.

Hello,

I am submitting additional photo evidence to clarify the situation.

There are three separate playgrounds in this area, each next to a different apartment block.

These two photos show the playground at Al. 3 Maja 14 from different perspectives.

This photo shows the two separate apartment buildings (Al. 3 Maja 12 and Al. 3 Maja 12a), each with its own playground. Behind me there is an apartament building (al.3 Maja 14)

Behind me there is another apartament building (al.3 Maja 14). Each building has a playground here, which means there are 3 playgrounds here.

This is a playground located at Al.3 Maja 12a

And this photo shows a playground located at al.3 Maja 12

This is a photo from google maps. U can see there are 2 playgrounds located next to each other. At the back u can see the 3rd block (al.3 maja 14)

Here are also 2 screenshots from google maps the 1st one is playground located at Al.3 Maja 14 and the 2nd photo shows this 2 buildings located at Al.3 Maja 12 and Al. 3 Maja 12a

I hope these photos clarify the situation and prove that the playground at Al. 3 Maja 14 is a separate, valid location. I kindly ask you to review this again and restore the PokéStop.

Can you use gps tagged photo (such as GPS Map Camera)? It will help staff confirm the location. Its hard to pin which playground to which building without it.

Thank you for that good advice, I will do that.
