It literally allows people to form their own routes, which is about as close as you can get to peak exploration.
Unfortunately for us Niantic gave their opinion on this and found them to be ineligible. There is nothing more we can do about it. They find them too common, because junction markers are everywhere in some countries.
Thanks for the appeal, @SarahBTalon We have taken another look but stand by our decision to retire the Wayspots in question.
