Additional Information (if any):
This was a valid portal that was deleted. Please reactivate it. This portal initially appears to be a duplicate, but it is NOT. There are two entrances to the market and this is the official rear entrance. I can also submit many more photos of it if more are needed (4 photos attached).
Whilst a location may have multiple entrances, typically there should be one wayspot to represent the location as a whole. In this case, at -17.842370, -63.109480 there is another wayspot called “Mercado 3 de Mayo”, which I’m assuming is the other wayspot you mentioned. As they’re both for the same market, it seems like only one wayspot should exist for it.
Thank you for your response. I understand your reasoning, but I would like to point out that there is no clear rule in Wayfarer stating that a location with multiple entrances should only be represented by a single Wayspot. On the contrary, there are countless examples worldwide where buildings with multiple entrances have several Wayspots, each representing different access points or unique features.
For instance, the Berlin Olympic Stadium (Berliner Olympiastadion) has multiple Portals marking the stadium, including two distinct entrances:
“Südtor Olympiastadion Berlin” (South Gate)
“Olympiastadion Osteingang” (East Entrance).
The “Mercado 3 de Mayo” is a similarly large and significant building with multiple entrances actively used by the local community. Each entrance holds its own relevance and offers a unique gameplay experience. Removing a Wayspot representing one of these entrances not only reduces diversity for players but also disregards the actual use and significance of the location on-site.
Additionally, this area already has very few Portals, and removing one further diminishes the gaming experience for local players.
In considering your appeal the wayfarer team will be interested in the place and not any aspects around gameplay.
So instead of emphasising the use in games your focus should be on what makes this wayspot important and distinctive enough to warrant to be recognised.
Multiple entrances to places have to demonstrate that. For example Not every entrance to a park is eligible. It is a judgement based on the evidence that it is distinctive enough. If it is not it is considered either a duplicate or not distinct from the others.
Consider if there is further evidence you can supply.
Thank you for your response. I’d like to clarify why Nuevo Mercado 3 de Mayo Piraicito deserves to be reactivated as a Wayspot.
Cultural and Community Hub: This market is a key part of local life, serving not just as a place for shopping, but also as a social center where people gather, eat, and support each other. It even provides important services, such as a bathroom for the homeless and assistance for those in need, making it an essential community resource.
One of the entrances offers a bathroom (for taking a shower), which is not available at the main entrance. This service is particularly important for the homeless, and is located at this entrance specifically because it’s set off from the main road. A photo of this area clearly shows the bathroom, making it evident that this entrance has a unique and important role (“Bano” at the first photo).
Distinctiveness: The market’s multiple entrances each lead to different sections with distinct purposes, such as food stalls or service areas. These entrances are not redundant but represent the market’s diversity, making each entrance unique and worthy of separate recognition.
Local Significance: Nuevo Mercado 3 de Mayo Piraicito is regularly frequented by locals, and its role in the community goes beyond simple commerce. Representing the different entrances with individual Wayspots ensures the game reflects the full importance of this location.
I respectfully request that you reconsider and reactivate Nuevo Mercado 3 de Mayo Piraicito to better represent this vital and unique space in the game. Thank you for your consideration.
This would likely make this area ineligible due to sensitive location IMO. A bathroom/shower is a place that requires privacy. I would leave this out of your argument.
