Additional Information (if any):
This portal/gym was deleted as a malicious act. It’s true that the pizza place is no longer there, but in its place there is a grill that, like the pizzeria, is a very popular place in the city.
I consider this report a personal attack because the portal was not only at level 8, but I’ve had it within my reach for the last 8 years, and it’s one of the first portals I created when nominations opened on Ingress.
If a business closes and another business takes its place, you are expected to report the wayspot as invalid for no longer existing as that business then nominate the spot again with the new business.
Hi @DreSt
Welcome to the forum
The outcome of your appeal will most likely be a rejection for the reason stated by @0wnedbycats.
I’m also curious about your wayspot title.
So, do you have any idea how many murals change over time? How many playgrounds are remodeled? Even churches change their facades from time to time, or even their names. So you’re telling me that what we should do is report the waypoint so they can delete it instead of taking a photo and updating the name/description? Is it the same when they relocate a statue, bust, or monument? Do I have to delete a waypoint and request a new one?
We have been allowed to update things like official murals. They are sometimes one of the exceptions to the rule so long as they are official.
The remodeled Playground is still a representation of the Playground wayspot. This would just be a photo edit since the only thing that changed was the look.
No its not, this would be a location edit. Since the Statute/Monument still exists, just in a different spot. Help chat can assist with larger moves than the games allow.
While I can understand the confusion on how trying to change the old restaurant poi into the restaurant poi is repurposing and therfore abuse when compared to the above examples, its probably due to restaurants being in a grey area. They might meet criteria if they are unique and a great place to Socialize but if they are just a generic chain restaurant they wouldnt meet criteria. I wouldnt bet that this example is a generic chain though off a quick glance. Wpuld be worth trying to submit it as its own wayspot but as you pointed out:
If you want this specifically as a portal in Ingress then at this point in time you will have to wait and see what Ingress decides to do about curating their map/gameboard.
Hopefully you will get an opportunity to submit the new restaurant. In meantime prepare by getting some good photos writing up some information etc.
