Ciao, I think it would help if we could see your nomination to help figure out what went wrong. That said, not every single object is eligible, and nominations must meet one of the following criteria:
- is it a great place to explore?
- is it a great place to exercise?
- is it a great place to socialize?
The vague rejection reason you mention sounds like an automated rejection (which would also show in your rejection email as “our team decided…”), but I don’t think an abandoned car washing business meets any of the criteria I mentioned above, if this is what you nominated, so it sounds like a correct rejection.

I have moved it to the nomination support category as that is probably the best place - not obvious to someone new

As it says other criteria it is likely that it was rejected automatically by the machine learning software ( often referred to as Emily).
The clues will be if it happened roughly within a day, and if the email refers to “our team decided”.
