I recently submitted a PokéStop proposal for Lindomar Pneus, but unfortunately, it was rejected. I would greatly appreciate any insights or feedback on the reasons for the rejection. Understanding these details would help me make the necessary adjustments and improve future submissions.
Could someone kindly guide me on what steps I can take to ensure the success of my submission? Any suggestions on how to better align with the guidelines would be very helpful.
Hello! From our perspective, this is easy to explain. The criteria for something to be a wayspot is that it must be a great place to:
Be Social
Exercise
Explore
A mechanic shop does not meet any of those criteria. It is a place that people go, but they don’t go there to hang out with friends, get some exercise, or to learn anything interesting.
It would be a waste of your time to try to improve this.
I understand your point, however, there are several other locations that are exactly mechanic shops, with no difference to the one I am proposing. So why were the others accepted and this one was not? It seems a bit inconsistent to me.
Well, this is going to be a hard answer to understand. Your country got some imported wayspots. Imported wayspots don’t have to meet criteria. (I hate typing that sentence.) All I can say is that new proposals submitted by players must meet the Wayfarer criteria.
This is a big part of why we say the first rule of Wayfarer is not to just copy the kind of things you see as wayspots on the map. Just because it’s on the map, that doesn’t mean it meets criteria. (Yes, I fully understand how confusing that is.)
As @seaprincesshnb says, unfortunately things that are already in the database are not always things that actually meet the criteria. Rather than basing your nominations on what you see in game, you need to assess whether what you’re considering nominating is a great place to socialise, exercise or explore, and whether it meets any of the rejection criteria listed on the criteria page of the wayfarer website.
Also, for future reference, if you are taking pictures of a location for a nomination, you need to make sure there are no visible licence plates in the picture. That’s one of the rejection criteria. Fixing that wouldn’t help in this case, as this isn’t an eligible location as we’ve already covered, but it’s worth noting for future nominations.
