Search for any Point of Interest worldwide

Is there any way to perform a search somewhere to find an approved point of interest (in this instance, it’s a Pokemon Go Gym)? I guess it should also be an Ingress Portal too.

I have a gold gym badge that is about to slide off my 1000 max limit of badges and I can’t remember for the life of me where this gym is. I suspect it might be in Alberta when I was vacationing there last summer.

Unfortunately, no, there isn’t. There isn’t a map for PoGo where we can look up any Wayspot anymore, since the split from Ingress. It is something being discussed here:

I do believe that all gyms can be found on Campfire, but there’s isn’t a search function.

You have a slight chance with “Pogo Map Info”.

This is a user generated map of locations so the data is not live and is often out of date.

To find you would have to hope…

  • The Gym as been entered on to the map.
  • It has been named exactly as in the game.
  • It has a unique name (will only show up to 5 answers).

With no other option it has to be worth a punt.

Good luck.

You can hunt around on Campfire but that’s gonna be tough.

Ingress Mission Creator allows searching for title or description, but that only shows if it’s a Portal.

If you share the title and preferably Description we can at least try and help you out.

Thanks, but i already tried searching on this map.

The title of the gym in question is Cosmic Graffiti. Don’t have any description. The reason I think it’s in Alberta is that when I look at other (non-Gold) badges appearing in my badge history is that it’s right with other Alberta badges.

I’m guessing I slotted into a fairly inactive gym and didn’t realize I wound up staying long enough to earn Gold status

I didn’t see anything in Alberta.
I am seeing 6 Portals in USA with “Cosmic Graffiti” in the title and they all have descriptions.

If it had not met Ingress ingestion rules, it wouldn’t have shown up. But worth an attempt.

I did find this one in Moldova…

… And this one in Russia.

There is also the gym map in game.
No search function but you can see the gyms you have on a map.

Thank you for looking, but I haven’t been to either Russia or Moldova. LOL. The more closely I look at the gym badge, I did have a number of victories, so i’m now thinking it must be more local (in Ontario). Having said that, it’s odd that the name doesn’t ring a bell, so I’m wondering somehow if the gym name was changed and I’m not used to the more recent gym name.

The last time I would have interacted with this gym was July of last year, and another possibility is that the gym is no longer in the game.

I would not have engaged with this post usually as it’s not Wayfarer related exactly, but this discussion got me intrigued :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth: and here I am

This appears to be solved, nice!

Yea, to my understanding, the Gym badges don’t update unless you interact with them. So if you go and Spin or drop off or another action, the badge should update to reflect the new name.

I do know that if they get deleted, you can still kind of view them but clicking on the badge will just cause endless spinning of the circle.

Fantastic! Thanks so much for everyone that responded and provided help!!!

Lol took me a while before i realize the meaning of 100🤣
