Additional Information (if any):I am requesting removal of “Solennelle Funeral Chapel” as it is a funeral home, a sensitive location under Niantic policy, and inappropriate for gameplay due to potential disturbance to grieving families.
I am stunned by this decision from the team. But when they refuse to remove something that I feel should be removed, I will often contact the business to let them know the Pokemon Go game location exists. I can usually find an email to contact them. Niantic will honor property owner requests to remove problematic Wayspots.
Yeah, I get why Chapels can be Wayspots - they often have quite impressive architecture, for instance.
Despite the name “Solennelle funeral chapels”, looking at their website, this definitely appears to be a funeral home, as in “an establishment with facilities for the preparation of the dead for burial or cremation, for the viewing of the body, and for funerals” (Merriam-Webster definition). I am also surprised that this does not fall under the blanket sensitive looking criteria clarification;
This seems like type of location that would fall under exactly that, and I too cannot see anything out of the ordinary about this location that should make it an exception to the generally. But perhaps a more concise, fleshed-out report putting weight on the funeral home part (and sources for that claim) would have made this judgment fall out the other way.
Solennelle funeral chapels is a room or building within a funeral home, or sometimes a separate building, where funeral services and viewings of the deceased are held.
I highly recommend retiring this location. This is a funeral parlor. It offers services like funeral mass coordinated with the parish but is not an actual chapel.
I think you need more evidence about how the chapel look. I am guessing niantic allowed it because it think its “chapel”. While funeral homes itself generally avoided, the chapel inside might not instantly ineligible. Perhaps it would be easier to remove if the wayspot is the funeral home itself
In the other hand,you can inform funeral home itself and tell them how to ask removal
