I’m sorry your wayspots have been removed. I personally enjoy the artists style. But looking at the locations and other markings, these don’t appear to be sanctioned street art. Tags and other things are there as well. These were likely reported for removal.

This kind of graffiti is not usually acceptable. The types of murals and other street art that can be accepted are things that the property owners commissioned to be done. In other words, the artist was hired or at least approved or asked to create the art on the space officially, not vandalism.
It is a very pretty design, but I agree with you that these Wayspots have been removed. These pranks are criminal and cause property owners financial loss in terms of repairs and loss of value at the time of sale. The impact may not be as great, but think of what would happen if these pranksters found out their work was being used in the game. Perhaps someone who wants more Wayspot might encourage them to do even more pranks. This is not appropriate for Wayspot because it could encourage criminal activity.
