This thing has been there for years.
We get sometimes edit nominations like title, location, photo. And some location edits come with just 1 available location to choose from. What is point of this kind of reviews? There is no additional name edit or photo check you just have a single option to choose from. It’s this a bug or how it’s happening?
In my experience from seeing what appears to be one dot, I can usually detect two overlapping pins if I can tilt, rotate, and or check street view. I think this happens either when the person submitting the edit forgets or can’t figure out how to move the pin, or when help chat has already made the adjustment but has not cleared the pending edit.
If there are cases where there truly is only one choice, I can’t explain that.
Are you able to zoom in closer on the map? It seems like someone might have submitted a very small move.
This one, well, moving it to the correct location should be quite apparent from this zoom level. It doesn’t look like it has particularly safe pedestrian access though.
I agree that these are most likely very small moves, ones that really aren’t needed, or moves submitted more than once because the first ones hadn’t been resolved yet. During the last global challenge, there were quite a few of these, and it was hard to choose the best one since they overlapped.
In these cases, if Street View is available, try choosing from there, as they tend not to overlap as much there. If there isn’t any Street View, you can either choose one of the options, or check the Unable to locate box.
Really, I think it’s users that get tired waiting for resolution that resubmit, ending up with this issue, so not so much Niantic’s fault. Some people just don’t have any patience.
It is very likely there are in reality two options you can click. Looks a lot like a small move resulting from what Cyndie has suggested above:
