I hope I put this topic in the right place ; I have a very hard time expressing myself in English and the problem is complicated. Earlier this year I completely gave up on nominating and reviewing for obvious reasons. (Denials only, penalties on reviewing though following all the rules, no longer being able to use IITC).
Now with the new map coming up, I wanted to see if it was worth giving it another try. Maybe things improved for rural players. And with the ingress-interference out of the playingfield.
When I open the app and sign in, or when I open wayfairer in the browser and want to sign in, when I choose Facebook, it does not get past the Facebook screen. I cannot sign in for the life of me.
I CAN log in with Google, BUT that is the wrong account.
I CANNOT change the Google account in the log in screen to my other Google account.
I can ONLY log in to the forum with my normal account through the link that was put on Facebook today, but from here I canât get into Wayfairer, only the forum.
Can someone please help me get back in to Wayfairer again through the app or browser, as this link wonât always be abailable, with my one and only usable account (Facebook) and please explain like Iâm 75 years oldâŠ.. Make that 95.
Hopefully staff or a other member here can answer your question. In the meantime to me it looks like you are violating ToS under section 3.1 cheating, having multiple accounts. (Very sorry if I misunderstood)
Have you also checked your network? Usually when I canât log in I have to refresh my network or restart the page.
Please feel free to post in your preferred language - this forum has a translate tool that is built in, there is absolutely no need to force yourself to write in English. You can also use the globe button to translate the posts of people who write in English.
Iâm very sorry to hear you had a negative experience with nominating and reviewing. I promise it is possible to nominate (including in rural areas) without having issues - we would be happy to support and advise with your rejected nominations, please feel free to share a few in a new topic. Or generally look at the area to propose nominations that could be eligible as seen from Google maps. We would also be happy to discuss any warnings you got.
Also just a quick reminder that we are supposed to follow terms of service when engaging in Wayfarer - that includes not using multiple accounts.
The problem is I hardly ever use it anymore, my daughter outgrew it, and would not need my phone to play anymore if she wanted to. So itâs basically abandoned.
And second, I know there are rules and I stick to them. But why is exactly the same type of object (here mainly stationary picknick areas /Nachbarschaft-treffpunkte) Approved 50% of the time and denied the other 50% ?
Why is one trail marker approved, and the next, also in the middle of nowhere, denied ? As long as it is so random, how am I supposed to know if a nomination is valid or not beforehand ?
And since I donât need to, I want to know how to log in with the account I actually USE .It is basically that the a abandoned account seems to interfere with logging in.
Picnictables and trail markers are defenitely eligible.
Sometimes it is hard to get these through because they get voted down for not being unique. An appeal with a good explaination can fix that issue easily.
You get 2 appeals each on a 15 day refresh.

I think I found it; I had the app with the grey balloon ; it still worked,but only with the âwrongâ account. Now I stumbled upon a download link that downloaded the app, with a different symbol (red exclamation mark) and that let me log in with my other Google account. (Not with Facebook though).
I never even knew there was a new appâŠâŠ
Anyway, problem solved, topic can be shut. Before people keep on stressing about my daughtersâ old account I never use anymore ;-).
I donât know, I havenât seen them - this is why I suggest starting a new topic to discuss the rejections you previously got, also not as to get mixed up with the technical issue you are asking about. Is this in Germany? There are multiple German and Central European members here who would be very happy to advise.
I know rejection of eligible things hurts - believe me, I experience this all. the. time. Sometimes the community gets it wrong, sometimes the community didnât have enough information to confirm and decided to reject in doubt. This is why appeals, resubmissions and this discussion forum exist. But two nominations are hardly ever identical, and eligibility is not categorical.
I repeat that I would not suggest discussing account sharing on here - as correctly said above there arenât special circumstances where this is allowed, and no matter what you think of this rule, we have to follow ToS on this forum.
Yes,this is in Germany. Iâm in a small village between two cities that are loaded with stops, but I have very low mobility, so would like to be able to play locally on short walks and rides with my tricycle. I have managed to get quite a few new stops and gyms here, but the last six months I tried, it became very frustrating. I might give it another go again.
I have seen my rating drop from excellent to good several times,and once even all the way down (but that was a bug).
You get WAY too little appeals (and more often then not denials on the appeal too, even though similar stops were approved before), that eventually I just gave up. And I know Iâm not the only one.
I think one of these is a shortcut to this Discourse forum, and the other is a deprecated version of an app that used to be restricted to developers. This is probably the reason you had trouble logging in.
Glad to see that you are thinking of trying again - again let us know if you would like to discuss nomination drafts. Like I said above many Germans and neighbors on here would be happy to help.
I want to reiterate that penalties for using the system per the rules should not happen - if it does happen, I have seen staff on here revert penalties they estimated incorrect or too harsh. If you think that is your case you could try making a separate post. There is a difference between change in rating, rejection of a nomination, warning, and penalty - I see all of these are being mentioned here.
Yes, I meant accessing wayfairer. For reviews mainly. And an occasional appeal. I know nominations go through the game
I have no idea where I got the first app, itâs been there quite a few years and I can still access the forums through it, just not Wayfairer. I donât see a button to bring me from here to wayfairer either, only the other way round.
âPenaltyâ was probably a too harsh term. Reprimande? Anyway, very demotivating.

Yes, because the first app is a forum app. From the system that runs this forum, Discourse, by the looks of it.
Reviews are accessed via Niantic Wayfarer and through there only, and have never been performed via an app. I would suggest removing both apps, or only keeping the first one for the forum if you prefer standalone forum apps.
