Solved in Post 2

Thank you for the help. I will go check again today.

If you can physically get to the location, go to the map at the start of the wayspot submission process and see what else is in wayfarer at that location. It’s /possible/ that a wayspot already exists and isn’t in pokemon go, or that someone else got there first.

This submission map is the only way to be sure.

It exists. You can see it in your nomination map screen as a ! if you start a nomination right there. That feature does not work remotely.

That would be impossible because that is this same submission. I edited the name while in queue and it was never accepted.

You don’t submit Pokestops, even though that is what the prompt tells you. You submit Wayspots, which may or may not be eligible to appear in Pokemon Go. See this article for information about the inclusion rules: https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/

I submitted it while I was there in person also.

Please go to the location and check in the nomination map screen. You will see something like this:

And the bench will be one of those red exclamation points. You have to be there physically for this to work. And the toggle in the lower left corner must be on.

I will today. I submitted it in person and at that time the only place was the Town Hall marker. Originally I submitted it as Stop Hate Bench then edited it.

I know this is extremely frustrating, but I hope you can satisfy for yourself that it does exist already. I had one I submitted that was a duplicate when I had checked and not seen it where I was just out of range of this tool. I was sitting in my car in the parking lot and it was just far enough away that I didn’t see the !

I will confirm for myself but thank you.

There is another possibility that it was empty.. but someone else submit it before you and got accepted right before your went into voting

unlikely since it was showing in the geospatial browser which hasn’t updated since May
