Suspended for sending true Waspots!

Hello,

I have been submitting several graffiti artworks from my neighborhood, and it seems that some reviewers are acting in bad faith by marking my contributions as abuse, inappropriate language, or incorrect location.

The review system becomes unreliable when malicious reviewers intentionally evaluate Wayspots unfairly in order to cause suspensions or punish other contributors.

I am extremely disappointed with this suspension, especially because I have always tried to be a high-quality Wayfarer reviewer and contributor.

I am sending this email as an appeal regarding the suspension of my account, and I also commit to no longer accessing the Wayfarer website in order to avoid any future issues or misunderstandings.

I am attaching an example of a new graffiti artwork from my neighborhood that was incorrectly reported by reviewers as abuse, inappropriate language, and wrong location. I feel that my contributions are being unfairly targeted by reviewers without proper criteria and with malicious intent.

Thank you for your time and consideration

Welcome to the forum!

Vandalism is not eligible. You can see a clarification on the difference between street art and vandalism here: Unique Art

I do not see an attachment.

The rejection statement that comes up when abuse is flagged up is badly worded, but usually isn’t about the text. It most often is about using a photo that can be found on a third party site or for misplacing the pin for the nomination.

Please try again to show us screenshots from your contributions page for advice about the nomination. The gps coordinates from your submission email will help, too. They will be after the photos.

Often staff will respond directly to posts here, if you do not want to share with the rest of us.

Regarding the abuse narrative, this can be flagged for a nomination for any of the following reasons:

* The photo is not yours (e.g., taken from streetview, found on another website)
* The text itself is abusive
* The nomination is controversial and likely to be offensive (e.g., a mural of terrorists)
* Another nomination was abusive and all of yours have been flagged as a consequence
* The wayspot location pin is misplaced
* The wayspot is deliberately misrepresented (e..g., on school property but pretending it isn’t)
* (there may be others)

It is also worth posting a screenshot of the emails you got regarding the suspension, as it is possible this was not caused by any of your submissions.

If you cannot get to your contributions page to post screenshots of the submissions you feel were unfairly rejected, you can use the details from the submission receipt emails.

I did not receive the email yet! I woke up and got the suspension screen on my Pokemon GO app!

Very disappointed! I was simply caught by the Pokestop Mafia!

Here in Brazil there are several Pokestops sellers! People that have 20-30 Wayfarer account that exploit the Wayfarer system.

Unfortunately I no longer have acess to Wayfarer and did not yet receive the email that explains the reasons

Hello,
I suggest you wait a little. Often a staff member ( name will say Niantic…) will contact to use a forum DM.

Ideas around the use of the word Graffiti does vary so without seeing it I don’t feel I can comment.

Please check all email accounts that are associated with wayfarer, Pokemon Go and Facebook. Please look in your deleted items and your Spam folders. Niantic do not give out suspensions without prior emails.

Hey @DavidGMFilho ,

Please refer to my DM for more information.

Best,

In 5 hours, after leaving my job, I will go there take more pictures of the Graffiti!

I got miss suspended and this is horrible!

Pleople use fly, people sell Pokestops and I get suspended! How ironic!

Posting the coordinates will help if you want advice from community members and ambassadors.

I will leave my job in 5 hours and will go there to take photos and get the coordinates.

Thanks for the support!

I did not receive the email of the suspension and got suspended. I have checked every single email.

You can find the coordinates in the initial email confirming receipt of the submission. It will be immediately below the photos.

I have found it

I found the object in question.

It was posted on social media one week ago, So it looks like it’s a very new mural.:

The location appears to be here:

Google Maps

It’s of course not visible on Google Street View yet, as the latest imagery available is from 2024:

So, if you actually submitted this mural at that location, you should have no problem getting your account warning or ban overturned.

I would also recommend adding the geotagged photos in a reply to this topic later, as you mentioned you were planning to do.

Good luck! :slightly_smiling_face:

Yeah!! It is exactly there!

Thanks… but the niantic supporter said it is IA generated image…

Thanks, guys! I guess I will have to wait the 30 days…

But it appears to have actually been submitted more than 700 meters away from its real location!

Submitted Location: -16.681464, -49.245751 - Google Maps

Real Location: “Approx”: -16.686747, -49.241431 - Google Maps

That location appears to be the below, which is the streetview pointed at -16.681464, -49.245751

There is nothing here that matches the building in your second photo - do I have the right location?

I believe I submitted the wrong location, then…

Thats it, thanks for your time! So thats why I got suspended
