(The bleeped out word contains the letter “u”, in my language that means “how” and it is not obscene, the forum doesn’t let me post the word)

Hello, can you help me understand the reason for this rejection? It says that the location does not match the photos/map, but the images were taken using the camera from pokemon go. The submission was made exactly from where I’ve taken the photos.

Should I appeal it?

I have a few nominations from around that area and all except one were rejected for this same reason.

Bonus : they were all reviewed by niantic

If this nomination is unacceptable for any other reasons, I will understand, but the images are from that exact place

U nd to prove its location. It seems the location doesnt have street view. The other option is using gps tagged photo. Without prove of location its will be hard to distinguished between real nomination and a fake one.

Your supporting photo should show more wide area. Look for things that visible from satelite view. That will help prove its location. you can collage photo if you think that will make it easier to locate.

My phone automatically gps tags photos, tho it may not be the case for the camera inside of the pokemon go app.

Can’t niantic see that the pics were taken using the internal camera? Again, it was reviewed by the niantic team.

Also, would anyone actually download the image to see if it is geo tagged or do I have to mention that it is geo tagged in the supplemental information?

Hello,

There’s no Street View here, so you have to take a wider photo showing the POI with the surrounding area for your supporting photo, not just one from the other side of the POI.

Photos are not geotagged, when uploaded, so reviewers do not know where the photos were taken, nor does staff. You would need to use a GPS camera app to have a photo geotagged, but this isn’t recommended for the main photos.

Also, this seems to be on single family private residential property, SFPRP, so it seems like it may be at an ineligible location, just looking at the coordinates and satellitel view.

When there is no streetview the supplementary photo is all the reviewer has to verify the location of an object no big enough to appear on the satellite view. Ideally then the supplemental photo should include the object being nominated as well as some background object that is visible from the satellite view. This could be a building or a similar object. I understand that this isn’t always possible but you need to do your best to prove the location the the reviewer.

I’ll echo these comments, the supporting photo needs to show a MUCH wider view in these cases. If that makes the proposed wayspot hard to see, then consider circling it in you phone’s picture editor and then uploading it as an existing photo.
