Waypoint not accepted for Various rejection criteria, any advise?

Hello everyone, i just got rejected for “Various rejection criteria” I read through the rejection criteria and the only one i can see is maybe the car in the surrounding picture? Id like to know what they were and if i should appeal it or just try again but it will take months again to review.

You probably got an “our team” email and this was probably reviewed by AI.

While I like the greenery, a picture more focused on the playground will likely fare better.

I’d recommend focusing your supporting info on how this is a great place to exercise, socialize, or explore, and avoid game-specific terms like “stop” instead of doing the sensible thing and following the instructions that the game gives you.

I’d also recommend including the playground in your supporting photo instead of doing the sensible thing and following the instructions that the game gives you.

i apparated the insight, they queue says take picture of the surroundings but maybe i was to zoomed out? I did get a mail that says “Unfortunately, the community has decided not to accept your Wayspot nomination.”, but it put up and rejected lass then 8 hours. I arm probably going to withdraw my suggestions and work on trying to get one accepted.

There is a theory that you get this rejection reason when some reviewers thought this was a duplicate, but not enough to reject it as a “duplicate.” Is there another similar playground nearby?

To echo what Nvl said, make sure to include the playground in the supporting photo, along with something reviewers can see on the map to confirm this is actually here. Also agree with the advice not to mention game terms. Although the game tells you that you are submitting a pokestop, you are actually submitting a Wayspot that may or may not be eligible to appear in Pokemon Go if approved. You should use this section to help reviewers decide if it is a great place to exercise, explore, or be social, and give any instructions they made need on verifying that it exists where you say it does.

You did not include enough location information for me to find this on the map to see if that seems like it could be the reason. And that is perfectly fine if you do not want to give away your location. But the playground does appear to be heavily shaded, so is probably hard to see on satellite view.

Maybe put these on hold and ask the community about them in Nomination Support before you withdraw.

Cars are allowed, just not license plates. And also, in the supporting picture it doesn’t matter.

I’ve moved this to nomination support as I feel it is more appropriate.

Welcome @AEasyKill4u

First it’s not obvious where to post ….so that’s why we can move :sunglasses:

There is a lot to take in and it’s great to hear you have more, happy to help.

Is there already any nearby - within 100m wayspots (the generic name for what might be a pokestop or gym) ?

You are clearly lucky to live somewhere sunny and have some nice tree shade. However that does make picking out the play equipment tricky. Can you try visiting at different times of day or weather to see if you can get a photo where the quipment stands out. Maybe even a close in on one piece,

It’s horribly blurred but hopefully you get the idea - it doesn’t need to be the whole.

Oh, great point for resubmission @elijustrying

Here is a similarly shaded playground and the photos I took to give you an idea

I had written details to help reviewers with locating the playground under the trees, but ML (the machine learning ai model) accepted it without it going to the community.

Hi, welcome! You got a lot of great advice above. I’d like to echo the advice on including the object you are nominating in the supporting photo and including any other recognizable features around in this photo as well if possible at all - that would really help reviewers confirm the location, especially if the area is newer.

Hey all sorry for the late replay.

@cyndiepooh this wasn’t a duplicate, there was only one pokestop in the park park currently and it just the park name sign.

Thanks for the example! I tried to withdraw the ones i suggested and use yours and elijustrying gave, so hopefully it works out :crossed_fingers:

@elijustrying yeah its nice living here here but its a little warm but can’t complain. Do pokestop have to be 100m away? I have a park sign that is just 1 square away (was using pogomap.info s17/s14 squares) to put it next square over which is less then 100m away. Thanks for showing me the way it suppose to be, i guess i was trying to take to much of the surroundings which i didn’t have to do and now i know.

Great that the suggestions are helpful.
It really does depend on the alignment of the cells there isn’t a set distance. Pogo map relies on individuals correctly placing points. Google IITC. This uses the Ingress intel map - so the placement of pins is accurate.

You need to ensure that this play area is distinctive from the park as a whole. So for example Nice Tree Park and Play Area Nice Tree Park. This helps make it clear that one is for the entire park and that this is for this specific facility.

If you don’t have it already in the description do mention what appears to be a nice curved bench where people can sit and be social.
Good Luck

Just a quick note again echoing the above reply - using pogomap.info is at your own risk, both the wayspots and the cell lines could be incorrect on this website. IITC is a bit more tedious to set up but is always precise in terms of cell lines and in terms of showing you the wayspots that show in Ingress. The Pokémon GO only ones can be added manually.
