Ingress is no longer part of Wayfarer as it was not included in the sale to Scopely. It is not possible for the Wayfarer team to remove portals from Ingress as that is owned by Niantic Spatial. They can however remove gyms/pokestops from Pokemon Go if the removal is legitimate.

Unfortunately, Wayfarer emails from Scopely still say “Niantic Wayfarer”, which is understandably confusing.
