Time for a proper waypoint map

I know its been repeated ad nausem here, but wirh the wayfarer app going and the replacement not being any use at all, its time for joantic to fjnally release a map for wayfarer users. Niantic complain abojt pwople using 3rd party maps like iitc, bur what choice do users have when they refuse to do one themselves, and the one they did give us, they complained people used it and then removed it from us lol

IITC isn’t a 3rd party map from what I gather. It’s just an app that interfaces into intel.ingress.com. Some of the overlays and the app is for sure 3rd party, but wouldn’t work without an Ingress account.

But do we need a map of some sort? I wouldn’t say no.

Iitc is 3rd party, its not licensed or officially endorrsed by niantic (i say officially, because, according to some ingress players, they used to say dont use it, but then some nia staff got caught using it themselves, so they now just turn a blind eye)

From what ive heard we are allowed to use IITC despite being 3rd party. They allow us to share that info here on the forums at the very least. It works but it would be nice to have a more official possibly easier to access map. Since setting up IITC and possible plugins needed can be a hastle for some. Sadly I dont think we will get an official wayspot map for awhile if at all. Im trying to be optimistic that the new map changes coming that they referenced in the power spot update post may include a full wayspot map but we will just have to wait and see.

The Ingress intel map is perhaps the closest thing. Anything more in depth and that requires using the Lightship dev.

IITC is not needed, players can use the stock intel. The problem is, intel/IITC do not show lightship wayspots which were not copied into ingress.
