How long do we players have to wait before our nominated Pokéstops are approved?

Hi, there is no single answer that anyone here can give you, as the options are a) somewhat area dependent, b) range between “a few days to several months”. In general lately the oldest nominations are several months old, in my understanding, so that would be the maximum you should expect.
If you’d like to speed your nominations up the suggestion would be to engage into reviewing yourself and using Upgrades.
Also, just for clarity, I think this may have been touched on in your other threads, but not everything you nominate that gets accepted is necessarily eligible to become a Pokéstop due to Pokémon GO’s proximity rules. Wayfarer is the tool that processes your nominations and covers multiple Niantic games, so what we are nominating are wayspots, not Pokéstops. Keep that in mind if specifically getting Pokéstops is a priority to you.

Personally i have approval in the range of 1-4 months. Easier to approve nomination can be approved within 1 month. While harder to review nomination like restaurant can take 3-4 months. This number might vary from people to people depending what they submit.
Like noted, it varies from area to area. The Wayfarer FAQ even notes that there’s no exact timeframe:

This exact number cannot be disclosed at this time, however, we can say that this depends on the performance of each individual Wayfinder.
