Hello, looking for some clarity. I have 2 submisions rejection for London Royal Mail posts with unclear explanation why. I know we have a lot of them in a game already and IMHO they fully meet for Eligibility Criteria:
An unique (They never close to each other)
A placemark of local interest (there is still people who send paper mails!)
Unique Art or Architecture (some of them are realy old!)
Post Offices (not exactly but they related - dosnt it?)
If they for some reasons become not aceptable, that means they all should be removed or why some we like some we dont? I may expect the criteria must be interpreted unambiguously
Hello
The ER ll ones are not acceptable ( see other comments in this topic ) the exception being things like Gold painted ones for medal winners.
Itâs not that unusual to have a business postbox ( the larger one) sited next to an ordinary one. It keeps the places that vans have to stop to a minimum.
So this submission is a correct rejection.
You indicated that there was another? Is it something other than ERll?
Picture is just to explain, not real one I am about, however If ERII not aceptable now, why we have them in a game in other places? Or do they soon will be removed as well?
In my case this one was rejected:
ER2 postboxes have never been accepted, but sadly, some reviewers have either maliciously or out of ignorance accepted them. Should they be removed? I personally think they should be removed, however it will go down to Niantic Policy as to whether they should or will be removed. Everything prior to ER2 postboxes have generally been considered as acceptable.
Regarding your GR6 postbox, without seeing the full nomination, it would be difficult for me to comment as to why it was rejected and whether you should appeal it or not.
I have missing one of portal what recently was removed and its an ER2 post, sadly I cant see what criteria was used to remove it
I try to apeal without expecting successâŚ
Fake nominations or criteria issues:
The wayspots/nominations that do not exist in the location or blatantly do not match our eligibility or acceptance criterias
from the reporting abuse form, but I donât know for sure how they would have reported. Iâm not going to lament a E II R that shouldnât have been added being removed from the maps myself.
It is a George VI Rex one. What I say below is a suggestion only. I cannot comment on other reviewers. BUT this style of writing and importantly the correct evidence in supporting has worked for me⌠BUT do not copy my text. Just make up your own. Look on the web for evidence. And read some of the other post box forum conversations for advice.
Title: George VI Cypher Letter Box
Description. This is Pillar Letter Box design made by ((insert name of maker if found)). The GRVI cyphered boxes are considered rarer due to the Second World War commandeering steel for many years. Easily distinguishable by the curvaceous letters and inclusion of VI. GR stands for George Rex which is Latin for George King.
(((@Kvarkas look on pillar box for the makers name⌠Include this as Made by â If does not exist ignore :-))
Supporting information.
Place to explore. Pillar box style of of post box. Rarity due to second world war steel restrictions. Evidence of Postal Box can be found at the Postal Museum Website here . For Royal Cyphers and evidence of box scroll through images at GRVI section as these show this box style))
Stinkpipes donât fall into any of those removal choices either but that that hasnât stopped some of them from being removed especially in my local borough of Bromley.
The mayority of postboxes are red ERII so they are the McDonalds of postboxes so the red ERII postboxes should be rejected even after the Late Queenâs death.
By using McDonalds as an example I am using an example of a brand that there is a lot of in the world. When it comes to UK postboxes the majority of them got made as red ERII postboxes due to how long she on the throne for. The rest of postboxes would be examples of lesser known brands.
Take coffee cafe chains in the UK for example a majority of them are Starbucks, Cafe Nero and Costa then you have lesser known brands in the UK such as Esquires, Coffee Republic and Tim Hortons (which despite being Canadaâs #1 chain it doesnât have many outlets in the UK).
There are a lot of Burger Kings in the world though in Australia the brand is known as Hungry Jacks because there was already a local Burger King restaurant in Adelaide, Australia in the 1970s, when Americaâs Burger King brand wanted to expand into Australia.
Although i see where your coming from, most of the boxes in question are in rural or are surbibon areas that have a lot of history to the areas, or are such small villages. where postboxes are acualy genuanaly social spots for the small communitys in the area.
the tiny village my late grandparents lived the this was very much the case where the only.noticable services in the town were the boxy town hall, post box (not office) and a public telephone box that had been converted into a libuary. with the nearest shop being half a hour walk away. (but givien the avrage age of the town this was normaly a hour) making the postbox and the bench a real social spot for the 50 people living there.
Although im never gonna complan about people rejecting postboxes I do see some social and historic value in the older post boxes.
