Hey, i know of 3 that aren’t in, but i can’t get them in cause of Emily, which I just realised with her being away i can submit 2 of them (not gonna bother with the last as its in a cell woth another pokestop and i dont think it will get into ingress)

A slightly different question – maybe someone can answer this for me:
Are only UK postboxes considered good waypoint suggestions, or does the same apply worldwide, meaning that regional postboxes can also be submitted as waypoint suggestions?

There may be other countries where postboxes are considered to meet social/exploration criteria, but it’s actually unlikely. There is something remarkable about the postboxes in the UK and how they are perceived.

For an easy comparison, the postboxes in the US are infrastructure, not eligible. (The newer postboxes in the UK are also not eligible as not worthy of exploration.)

Well poop, Emily is rejecting stuff again, just got my edward the 8th post box rejected by her … again

She was already back since your last comment… I was gonna say “too late” but thought I might have been misinterpreting what you were saying.

Good luck with the appeal.

Already been rejected by appeal … twice, ive given uo appealing post boxes, even rare ones. It’s I furiating cause I k ow if I get it past Emily.it will pass by the reviewers

Resubmit, put on hold, and wait.. sooner or later, emily will be down again, and then you unhold and upgrade ))

I gave up on my George VI postbox submission in the end. Been seeing lots of people on Facebook saying they got their accounts banned for stop submissions so decided it’s not worth the risk.

People on social media often won’t tell the whole story so I wouldn’t put any stock in to what they say regarding being suspended for what they say are “good” submissions.

A King George VI post box should be fine, can you share your nomination here?

I wouldnt count your chickens too soon. You won’t get banned for a non accepted stop. Do pm me or make a post with your submissions so we can all have a gander at your woes.

Drac.

I find it weird. I have only done 4 postboxes and all were accepted. Two pillar and two wall. Having seen those rejected for others I am not sure of the difference. Save timing. Cannot remember if Emily was going full bore though.

Clearly shows the system is weird. I have a new one and will try that and see what happens

I saw this one the other day. Would have been totally good to have nominated this  Now to spot an all black one

The Gold boxes are an easy accept due to their rarity with only 1 for each UK Gold Medal winner in the 2012 Olympics.

I think the black ones or privately owned boxes that people have purchased either as ornaments or to use as their own box when receiving mail. They can also be when the Royal Mail plan to remove it but local rejection stops this (in the same way that there are still lots of public phone boxes that no longer have the phone installed). This is to make it obvious that your mail will not be collected from this box.

Unless the other criteria is met such as pre ERII I think the black boxes would be a harder sell.

Just google mapped the Lenny Henry one and it has definitely returned to red.

Now that is sad.

If anyone wants to be really sad at the poor quality take of a postbox, this one is one of mine.

Queen Victoria Postbox found in Harrow. Surprised nobody had submitted it before.

I don’t think Royal Mail in the 19C were worried about the traffic levels of today to be fair. :eyes:

There was less traffic but the roads were overflowing with horse sh*t. The internal combustion engine was a Godsend..
