Unable to send reports using the wayfarer map - Report failed (captcha or unsuccessful response)

Windows 11 Chrome.

Every time I click Report for a wayspot, select a reason and enter a narrative, I get the following error:

I looked for a way to log out and back in again, but cannot find a logout button.

If you are experiencing issues, the first thing I would say is to try without any external tools which might be affecting the process. I would not make a bug report unless able to reproduce with any plug-ins off, in case it isn’t Niantic’s issue.

Good idea. Even though I hadn’t added any since last time I reported anything, it’s always possible an add-on had been updated. However, it is now resolved.

Or even the map has been updated and the tools need an update.

  • Niantic will not check that a map update will work with the tools.
  • The tools have to be checked that they work with any updated map.

I have just had the same error.

Removed the Wayfarer Tools and tried again but still failed.

This was a Waypoint that had already been reported by someone else and Rejected, thought a 2nd report and another look might be useful.

Is it possible that the error is caused as either…

  • The waypoint is marked as Recently Checked.
    or
  • Someone has taken another look, it has been Removed in the database but not yet updated on the map…

Just a few thoughts.
