Hello,
Today I stumbled upon a video game and trading card store and was excited to add it as a POI in pokemon go. I took photos of the location and brought them home to submit them, only to look in Wayfarer and see that unfortunately this location already exists, in a spot that is almost correct by less than one meter, but is ever so slightly suboptimal both for location accuracy and for gameplay. The location of this wayspot is approximately 1m into the parking lot in front of the store, just barely off the edge of the sidewalk. Out of sheer bad luck, this spot is just barely in the corner of an occupied s2 cell that causes it to do nothing in game, as seen below. I do not blame the initial submitter of this spot, they were just unlucky and unaware.
As it does not appear in game, I cannot submit an edit in the game menu. The Remy support option is only for location edits that are over 10m, I started a support ticket there but I am very hesitant to fully submit it as it is not the intended use, and I am worried that while this edit is legitimate, it is so minor that support staff may mistake it for abuse and cause harm to my game account, as the current location is “accurate enough”.
Even a tiny edit to coordinates would both improve the accuracy of this wayspot (placing it squarely in the front foyer on the store, just inside the door) and make this spot appear in game. Despite this edit being a legitimate one, It looks too similar to an abusive edit due to the way it is just barely jumping a cell line and I am too scared to make a request, as I do not think it is worth risking punitive action on a 10 year old pokemon go account.
I suppose the ideal outcome would be Wayfarer staff seeing this post and making the edit after understanding the context, but any advice on how to proceed, if at all, would be appreciated. I don’t intend to do anything for now as getting one new pokestop is not worth risking the safety of my game account. It’s a shame really, as most of the items in this store are pokemon related and it would be a great place for players to gather.
