Unfairness

It’s uncommon in the US to have any public art outside of museums or galleries that depict the nud3 body in any way, even if it’s just art depicting an unclothed body. Some might even see the painting The Birth of Venus as too suggestive.

I’ve even heard of neighbors getting upset at another neighbor because they put a replica of the Statue of David in their front yard. It’s their right to display it, but sometimes theier neighbors start slamming them on social media, or worse, the local news starts covering it.

Hey there @scarletspeed21 I would echo the advise you see on this thread and thanks for tagging me @elijustrying!! A lot of us have felt very frustrated over time, I’d love to help you get things approved in your local area. I do it for a lot of wayfinders. If you want to you can DM me on X (formally Twitter) @ wayspotters (DM’s are ALWAYS OPEN) or on Instagram @ wayspotterspodcast with the street address or the coords of your local area and I’d be thrilled to poke around and see if there are POI’s that are eligible for inclusion. I would even help you write the description for them.

Let me know if you want the help and I will happily give it to you.

I want to clarify that the image in that postcard is of a man holding a bowl. The name even tranlates to Man Holding Bowl. Though he appears to be naked, we actually can’t see any private areas so, he could be wearing a loin cloth. At the very minimum, it’s a nud3 that doesn’t show any nudity.

I would also like to remind the OP that Pokemon GO (and all Niantic games) are based on “Real World Locations.” In order to play these games, you must interact with REAL LOCATIONS. That’s the entire foundation of the games. Fake wayspots are a blatant violation of that founding principle.

Just for fun, I looked up the Statue of David to see if it has a Wayspot, and it does. The main photo in Lightship even shows the entire front of the statue, even the area some would find suggestive (I edited the screenshot as not to offend anyone, or even get in trouble).

It’s just human anatomy.

True, but not everyone views it in that context.

One more thing! They denied me cuz of the last of sidewalks but they put a gym in the middle of the road and another behind a lounge that closed at 6pm

That is a Power Spot, not a gym. Power Spots have different criteria that doesn’t always align with Wayfarer criteria. More info can be found here:

That is not a gym. That is a Powerspot. We have been screaming to Niantic that they should not have used these imports. You are able to report these. Tap on the ? and then tap on the ! to get to the form where you can report it for removal.

Edited to add screenshot of form

I have the very same experience here, where I live: In the country/countryside. It’s very hard to find “proper” places for pokestops, (and we don’t have paved sidewalks - grass only - on very quiet roads), so we have to give it a try on some alternative-ish spots … and they all get denied! It’s really frustrating. On a 5.4 km route in my hood I have 1 (ONE) pokéstop only, and no gyms. It feels like Pokémon GO is for trainers living in the towns and cities only.

THANK YOU!! Someone that understands
I’m a disabled vet with implants and damage knees and back and I sent Niantic an email and they said no straight up! I’ve seen post cards that are just a lil sign on a tree, so I tried! NOPE, I’ve told them we don’t have side walks because it’s a very low top speed of 15mph, but it’s like they don’t care, they don’t like people cheating but they make it difficult to be loyal

I am a Wayfarer Ambassador who works in the disability community. I absolutely agree with you that a lot about Niantic games could be set up better for inclusion and accessibility.

Adding fake locations so that you don’t have to leave your house is not one of those accommodations.

I just want to point out that this area is not without game locations.

Some people would be thrilled to have this many game locations.

Have to agree here. I remember getting a nomination for a fountain. The issue was that it was on PRP. The nominator tried to sell it as being the home for someone that is disabled and unable to get out much. Unfortunately, it still didn’t meet criteria being on PRP.

I am disabled as well, and don’t get out much, but still manage to play PoGo, get to stops/gyms when I can, as well as participate in Wayfarer. Would I love a stop at my apartment building? Yes, but there’s nothing on the grounds of the building that meet criteria. We don’t have a dog park, a picnic area, a fitness center, etc, and I can’t just make up something that doesn’t exist.

2 of those locations are behind a fence without access

I submitted one sign that had Donald Duck pointing with the word bar! I was told no because of the “bar” but they have one right behind the fence that actually says bar and lounge! So can you understand the frustration?

Can you clarify for me what you mean when you say you were “told no?” Who is telling you No?

But anyway this is the 3rd day I believe, I don’t wish to continue talking about this I have better things to do with my time I was just replying to someone with the same issue, I already understood Niantic and it silly and contradicting rules! Thanks

I mean, rheres no chance thats a peen, like, its coming from his stomach :rofl::rofl: but human body parts on statues isnt adult orientated, a gentlemans club is adult orientated, im hopig you cam see the difference.
