I am not gonna provide pictures of the nominations nor locations unless specifically requested, for those information very much open me to doxxing as it’s the very place i live. But this post is a complaint to the moderators (and reviewers, too) of this place that can not stop to inform themselves before judging a nomination.
I live in a neighborhood that houses a park that houses an apartment complex, the park is fully public, while gated, but the gates are open to the public, that’s a feature of most parks isn’t it? I submitted the plaque reading the name of the park, which is also the given name of my whole neighborhood and of this part of the larger city i live in, it is also the name given to the apartment complex for that’s how people are with names. But that should not be reason for a nomination, nor an appeal, to be rejected. I very much stated in my appeal that, understandingly, the reviewers didn’t much stop to think and consider and inform themselves over if the area constituted public soil or not, but that it was, and i explained, in the appeal, that the area is, as i stated, a public park, sited in a public neighborhood, very meaningful to the community living here. The moderators checking my appeal just dismissed it for reasons of “this is an apartment name duh” to which i reply “do you not inform yourself before checking appeals? Is that not your job here as a moderator?? A quick Google Search would have given you the required information to know what my nomination was about.
All this to say, from now on i am going to include google link in my nominations. Cheers.
Sorry to read your complaint - but your closing sentence is crucial. The burden of proof for the validity of the nomination lies with you as the nominator.
The reviewer – regardless of the review phase (AI > Community > Appeal > Appeal in this forum) will make their decision to approve or reject the nomination depending on how you, as the nominator, describe and link to relevant information. The latter steps have given you additional scope to prove the validity of your nomination.
Unfortunately, very little help / suggestions can be given without extra details. I understand why you would not want to some cases.
Did the images show that it was the park being nominated (there was a lengthy discussion here yesterday discussing what people class as a park or just some grass)?
Does it have the general features that many parks have, play area, Picnic areas etc? if so it may be better to concentrate on those.
Edit:@NianticAaron has posted and probably answered my questions for you.
I suggest you change this attitude to “As the reviewers are dealing with many reviews and I am just nominating this 1, I will do the “search engine” for them and supply the links”.
There’s recently been another thread about parks and such on this forum. To paraphrase what I said on that thread, grass doesn’t necessarily equal park. Sometimes a patch of grass with benches is just a patch of grass with benches.
If you have evidence that it is recognised as a park, then you should include that in your supporting info in future, but @NianticAaron does sound pretty confident with his assessment of this area, and he can actually see it whereas we can’t.
Not a good idea. Spamming nominations can lead to sanctions on your account.
If there is a play area or a swimming pool inside the apartment complex, you can submit that instead. Submitting the apartment complex is not a good idea.
PS: There is literally a “Private Property” board on the entrance if you see the historical street-view.
Do you refer to the board from 13 years ago that we as a community fought to have removed, and succeeded in our attempt as clearly visible in the last 13 years of photos?
And i DID submit the swimming pool and the benched area but that also got rejected
I thank my fellow commenters on here, for i actually did not know it was possible, and within the rules, to add external links to the submission descriptions. I will do just that now! Thank you
You need to reread what was written above. If you put external links in the submission descriptions they will get rejected. You can put external links in the supporting section, which is what @cyndiepooh said above.
