Okay my university has one of every species of tree native to our state there are signs in front of the unique ones, would they be a good nomination, i feel like trees arent a great submission but the informational signs usually do really well. Its also one of the things the university advertises during campus tours and the like. I just dont know if the effort would be wasted trying to get essentially a tree as a wayspot.

Yes, the signs for the trees may be eligible, as they are educational, encouraging one to explore more about them. Each tree here is also one that can be found in the state, which is culturally significant, again falling under the explore criteria.
Many arboretum plaques/signs for different species of plants are already Wayspots, and nature signs, which they are usually seen as, are listed as great places to explore in the eligibility criteria section in the help center.
