Upgrade - new approach?

Hi,

I just realised, that upgrade can be applied not in first stage (waiting) but during second (in voting).

My previous understanding was that applying in stage “waiting” was used to move nomination up in the list of all waiting nominations for earlier voting.

Is the same now? just the move is in queue “in voting” so I can again look for earlier result of voting?

Thanks,

Martin

Welcome to the forum

An Upgrade can be applied after roughly 24 hours, to allow the ML system to evaluate the proposal. This is to avoid an Upgrade being used on a submission that is going to be rejected before it enters the queue.

My understanding is that the Upgrade opens a nomination to a wider pool of reviewers, so that once it gets into voting it will be voted on quicker, but does not change how long it takes to move out of the queue.

so, even it is in different phase, the result should be the same - quicker result of voting.
Thanks,

My understanding is that it will move a nomination into voting if it has been sitting in queue and then the voting will also go faster. If a nomination is in a cell neighboring a cell where a different nomination is currently in voting, then the first one will have to wait in queue till the other gets resolved. This means it can wait in queue weeks if unlucky. Upgrades are great at this point. If a nomination gets upgraded too early after it is created then it can get tossed in limbo for up to a week before entering voting. This is nearly guaranteed in the first 24 hours (which is why they disabled upgrades in this period) but can extend up to around 3 days after submission.

So wait to be sure something is really stuck before using an upgrade.

ok thanks
