Can anyone explain me this. I submitted 2 Wayspots at the same time and upgraded one of them which supposedly make it go into a process (review, voting, etc) faster but instead the one that it’s not upgraded it’s the one that gets moving? What is the purpose of Upgrading? Or maybe I’m missing the point.

Upgrades do not go into voting sooner. Applying an upgrade makes your nomination available to a wider pool of reviewers. So once in voting it may be decided more quickly (since more people are looking at it).
So just to make sure I get it right. The Upgrade is only worth it if it goes into Voting? Because if it gets picked by the Automated System or by Review by Niantic then it’s a wasted of time since it won’t be in the pool for voters to see it. ???
This is what I often tell people. The ML model (automated process) seems to evaluate nominations at about 24 hours after submitting. Then the nomination could go to in house review, regular voting, or remain in queue. If the nomination is rejected by the ML model or decided by the team, then the upgrade has been wasted.
There seems to be a variable grace period of up to 7 days before a nomination will go into voting. If it is in community voting, you can definitely go ahead and apply the upgrade to send it to a wider audience, but you don’t have to wait that long. Many people have reported what you have observed, that the ones that weren’t immediately upgraded have gone into voting first, but I am not sure that is a cause and effect situation.
I usually will upgrade about 4 days after submitting if I am going to use one, whether it is in voting or not. Nominations have been decided so fast here lately, that I rarely use one anymore.
