I have a couple of submissions that were rejected and all that is notated is wayfarer criteria. Is this normal? I also can not appeal these for some reason, the button does not show at all. These are for permanent fixtures at the historic VA Brockton MA campus.
This is the rejection reason that you get for an ML (machine learning ai) model rejection. The email you got also said “our team” instead of the community, and you most likely received the email 20-24 hours after you made the nomination.
If you want to post your nomination, we could try to talk through what you might be able to do differently for a new submission.
(Welcome to the community! You have come to the right place for help.)
You get two appeals, with a 20 day timer on each before you can use it again. The button will come back when available.
Welcome @Tdiguy
Just wanted to add that you have 2 appeals available max. One you use one it will give you a new one in 20 days from use. So you likely have used to appeals recently.
=) for some reason it put my response to that part of the post in a separate response when i quoted that piece
Not all permanent fixtures are eligible. I suggest that you post your nominations and the community will suggest changes if needed.
Ahh ok that makes a lot of sense. Frustrating to know I get to battle ai with applying for jobs at work and portal submissions.
Oh I love ML! Accepts in a day? Yes, please! But it does have to recognize that what you submitted is eligible.
Seriously, we would love to take a look at your submissions to see if we can tell why the ML didn’t approve it. We’ve been at this for a while so most of us have a good feel for how to improve a submission or, just as important, when to give up because that thing just won’t ever be approved.
So does this actually happen where the AI will approve a portal as well?
Yes! This is why I emphasize great, clearly focused photos that make it easy to detect what is being submitted! I ML!
[edit: quibble that it is accepting “wayspots” not “portals” but yes, it accepts!]
I can handle the rejection, they were not the strongest contenders the way that I submitted them. The very generic language threw me off. I have had a couple portals recently approved also. I need to do some research on a home in town I just saw has a plaque saying it’s a nationally registered historic place. Most buildings at work ( VA Brockton MA) I have heard are historic so I will see what I can dig up. The walkways are about 1.5 mile round on the outside paths and 1 mile on the inside with mile markers in the tunnel.
good luck with these, and someone is always here for feedback if you want it before submitting!
be careful with the plaque on the home. if it is currently being used as SFPRP (single family private residential property) then it is ineligible, even if historic.
Really? There is a whole street of them in foxboro, with a mission.
Sometimes things get accepted that shouldn’t. Not seeing the houses and plaques in question, I don’t want to comment. But a house currently being lived in as a single family private residential property is an ineligible location. There could be plaque placement away from the home that is eligible, the homes could be preserved as a showcase but not lived in and be eligible, and there might be other case by case reasons they were accepted. As well as just being an error.
So, after a brief search I found this home that’s historic had been on the market for over 1k days, can that be considered abandoned?
No.
I should rephrase that from “currently being lived in” to “currently intended for use as a single family private residential property” - being on the market does not make it eligible. apologies.
No problem no offense taken, I will just have to dig deeper. It doesn’t look lived in and maintained to me. But opinions are plentiful and often worthless. Maybe in the section reviewers see I will describe the many flaws and how long is been on the market. In this area it’s unusual for a home to be on the market for more than 6 months, unless something tragic happened to the owner and a next of kin is hard to find.
Single family private residential property not being eligible is not an opinion. It is a hard rule of Wayfarer. Just because someone doesn’t live in it right this minute doesn’t mean that it is not still zoned as single family residential.
Many reviewers will approve anything because they don’t understand the rules of Wayfarer. So even if you are able to get your locals to approve this, that doesn’t mean it is eligible.
