Wafarer Web Submission 'Submit Glitch'

Bug Reports should include the following and any additional information you feel is necessary to aid in the investigation of the bug.

  • Description of the issue

Through the Wafarer Website on my Desktop PC I submitted one nomination 3 times by accident because I did not get a prompt that I successfully nominated. The first time I clicked submit it stayed on my edit page and thought I just got distracted and didn’t click the actual button. The second time I clicked I thought I had internet issues or that the website had logged me out but left me on the edit page. So I went to a different tab (I didn’t want to loose all the work I did, title, details, by refreshing the page) and didn’t need to log in so that meant I was still signed on. So I clicked again to see if me opening another tab solved the issue (‘somehow’) but nothing happened so I thought It just didn’t submit and there was an issue. Web Submissions are new so I know its not going to work perfectly all the time, I wasn’t frustrated it just is what it is. I decided I wanted to submit through pokemon go and started to send myself an email copy and pasting all my work when I suddenly got 3 emails for the same nomination. I was so confused. I refreshed my contributions page and saw all my three attempts.

Hey @thundurbuht69 ,

The issue you have described seems to be a sync issue leading to a delay in the submission confirmation. This may happen if the network you’re connected to is not stable.

Having said that, I have escalated this issue for further analysis.

Thanks,

Thank you Aaron. I know now to be mindful of how to approach this issue next time it happens (if it happens). Is there a need to report every time it happens?

Please do let us know if it continues to happen.

I too experienced this twice. Both times I was submitting from home with a stable internet connection. Regardless of internet stability, I think the system should filter out multiple identical submissions within seconds of each other, because no real submitter would intentionally do this.

I had the same issue too, posted it on the main discussion a few days ago
