You don’t know how many reviews I get that have a description like this, or just “Local (insert type here) restaurant.”
OPR Live badge tic? @NianticTintino
That would be my signal to stop the review session. I can’t stand it
Hello!
Thank you for the information about the upcoming challenge. It’s exciting to see new activities being introduced to the community.
I’d like to bring to your attention that in Lima, Peru, there’s a Wayfinder community that sometimes reports edits to Wayspots as abuse, claiming they are familiar with the opposing players’ game areas. This often leads to those who submit edits being sanctioned with strikes or even 30-day bans, which can be a concern for those who genuinely want to contribute.
Additionally, the same community seems to approve their own portal submissions since they have a good understanding of how to optimize the review algorithm. This situation creates a disparity in the approval process, favoring their own submissions over others.
Is there any way to ensure that edits submitted won’t be flagged as abuse to avoid these unfair sanctions? Any guidance or advice on how to contribute safely and fairly would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time, and have a great weekend!
If the reward for this challenge depends on the number of edit submissions, I will add a period or comma to the description to make it easier to read.
My idea is really silly, but I can’t deny the possibility that there will be more edit reviews like this in the future.
Hello,
This sounds like abuse on the part of the other team, as they are trying to manipulate the game play area. You should report them for abuse at the following link:
The form here is anonymous, whereas the forums can be found with an easy web search, so abuse issues aren’t handle here.
Chances are eMiLy will get the photo edits before the community. Haha.
I welcome more edit reviews, as I get very few, most being photo submissions. Plus, edits are so easy to review and don’t take much time.
I think if you are just going around adding a period or comma repeatedly, Niantic may view that as abusive, so not recommended to do.
Hoping the LDS church edits get flushed from the system before this.
Or maybe they’ll make new spaces available in super-heaven for parishioners who submit extra edits!
Sounds like it’s going to be easier doing this challenge with Ingress compared to Pokemon Go, given remote portal viewing and editing.
When we’re flooding the system with tons of edits, we all will have more edits to review after that.
Is there a solution for edits not counting to our agreements yet?
Nice to have more Wayfarer Challenges and hopefully this ticks for OPR Live badge also.
One comment on timing:
Winter time is coming.
Sun sets already at 16.36 pm here in Finland next weekend (Sunday)
and daylight duration is getting shorter every day.
Some countries and POIs may be even covered with snow at this time of year.
I guess most players live in northern hemisphere.
So I am wondering why challenges like new photo contributions are held
on winter time?
The same applies to Ingress Overclock hack (Portal scanning) global event that was held last year at winter time.
@NianticAaron @NianticLC or any Ambassadors, please explain like I went into comma (from Wayfarer) for months?
Yeah, its not the best time of year to be submitting new pictures if we want great light even in the UK. Although the trees can look great in autumn.
Do you find Finnish reviewers are happy to accept pictures taken in the dark?
I used to love reviewing edits. And I really enjoy adding new pictures as well. But since my rating has gone bad, I’ve been very nervous about reviewing edits and skip most of them.
It’s never the perfect time of year at any one place on the globe. I don’t know why this time of year was chosen, but for many, the temperatures are just now becoming nice. Summer in my area brings 4 months of temperatures over 30.
It seems to me the message is giving us time to take some photos this weekend so we dont have to take them in the dark after work. We can submit them after the challenge starts.
As for snow, snow photos are lovely. They make nice additions to wayspots.
Hey @patsufredo - nice to read you again
