Why did my pokestop get rejected

I submitted a pokestop of a wooden sign it got rejected because of the two reasons

  1. The submission is on private property which is not publicly accessible
  2. The submission is likely not permanent or distinct
But the sign is in my apartment complex that is multi family I submitted like the pool and tennis court and got accepted without trouble
2 the wooden sign is been there’s alot of years and i have seen more pokestop like this get accepted so can someone say why it got rejected

Welcome to the forum.

Every nomination has to meet criteria. The eligibility criteria states that something must be a great place for exercise, exploration, or being social. There would have been a link to criteria in your rejection email. I don’t see how this leasing office sign meets any of those.

That first rejection reason is incorrect, but the second one is how we have been instructed to reject something that just isn’t significant enough to be a wayspot. Reviewers are not trying to tell you it is “temporary”. They are trying to tell you it is “not distinct”. I probably would have used the “generic business” rejection reason to reject a sign for a leasing office.

I see an arrow on it, go for the directional explore criteria. Other than that will probably be marked not distinct again but go for it.

Just because something provides directions, does not mean it meets the exploration criteria.

The pool and tennis court were brilliant ideas because those are good places to exercise. This sign for a leasing office is nothing to do with wayfarer criteria though.

So ur telling me that the sign I submitted its not distinct because there alot of them but this is distinct? Like subway its a famous fast food place, donut its the most vommon name for a donut places and they are not generic?

This is not a sign for Subway.

This is a sign for a shopping plaza/shopping centre. These are often considered to be places where people socialise, whereas a leasing office is not.

You can’t judge a shopping plaza nomination on just the photo.

If they do not make the case as spelled out in the clarification, or if it isn’t obvious from the map, then I will also reject these as either not distinct or generic business.

I did not say this. I did not mention the quantity of signs. I said that I do not see how this meets any of the criteria of a great place for exercise, exploration, or being social. You can check out all the criteria, including eligibility, acceptance, and rejection, as well as the forum clarifcations through this link: https://niantic.helpshift.com/hc/en/21-wayfarer/section/166-wayspot-criteria/

Oh okay i was confused bc theres nothing about sign of leasing office and i havent seen it on my area but ty for the clarification

Not every single thing is clarified. There is a lot of gray area.

When I make a nomination, I make sure that I can say how it meets at least one of the three main criteria. “Great place for exercise, exploration, or being social” is burned into my brain like a mantra. Sometimes I don’t need to point out which criteria it meets, as for a playground, but other times I will state in the supporting how I feel it meets any of the criteria.
