I know that when we indicate a wayspot and it is approved the wayfarer can use it for other games, but I for example play Pokémon GO, I indicated it so that I and those who play around me have those wayspot that I indicated, then I go and find that it is not in my game, so it probably went to another, but gee, kind of annoying isn’t it? Otherwise I wouldn’t even mention it, if it’s not in the game I play, it doesn’t make any sense to me, it’s fine to use it in other games, but in the one I mentioned, it should be there first and foremost, right? I don’t know, I got a bit discouraged
Welcome to the forum!
I really dislike the wording on those exclamation points, but idk a better way to say it. It sounds like they put it in another game instead of Pokemon Go. It is normally the case that the location wasn’t eligible to be a pokestop or gym in Pokemon Go. It will also show this exclamation if it just hasn’t synced in yet. Sync normally happens once a day around five hours from now.
To explain eligibility for Pokemon Go, you need to learn about S2 cells. This is a great article to learn about them: https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/
Hello and Welcome @MrCampanatti
If you would like to tell us the exact location we can have a look with our limited data review what is there. If you also have a screen shot of the submission map with the all the orange pins then that would be helpful.
Do read the article about cells and how pokemon Go team use them to select which wayspots appear as gyms or pokestops. Understanding this will hopefully prevent such frustration in the future.
There is also a possibility that it might become a powerspot.
For future reference…
It sounds like you believe that it has been used in another game “instead of” Pokemon Go. If the waypoint is eligible in multiple games it can appear in multiple games.
I would not mention pokemon go in your nominations, your nomination could be used in all / some or none of the games. Game specifics should never be mentioned in the Title or Description and some will also knock it down if mentioned in the supplemental. This could be enough to drop a 50/50 nomination in to Reject.
As for this nomination…
Your nomination may…
- become a Powerspot (Dynamax / Gigantamax) depending on its proximity to other waypoints.
- replace the existing waypoint if that is removed for legitimate reasons. ***
- be used in other Scopely games.
***Do Not attempt to get a legitimate wayspot removed just to get yours on to the map. This is seen as Abuse and can lead to suspension / bans of all accounts (Wayfarer, Pokemon Go and any other Scopely games.
Good luck.
@cyndiepooh Ah, got it—sorry about that! I’m still working on my writing skills; I’m much stronger in listening and reading. I checked out the article and it really helped me understand how wayspots work. Thanks a lot!
@elijustrying Thanks! The exact location is -15.7904230, -47.8752268 — Plus Code 645F+RWJ, Brasília-DF (St. de Autarquias Norte Q. 3, DNIT - Departamento Nacional de Infraestrutura de Transportes, Asa Norte, Brasília-DF, Brazil). The screenshot I can share right now is from my Wayfarer contributions page, below.
@SlimboyFat71 Got it—so it might turn into a Powerspot, or maybe it just hasn’t synced yet. And nope, I didn’t mention Pokémon GO anywhere in my wayspot nomination—neither the title nor the description. I understand that the spot can be used in every game, and since it’s a historic plaque, there’s no reason to name a specific game anyway.
I’m also not trying to get an existing, legit wayspot removed just so mine shows up on the map—far from it. I just thought the spot wouldn’t appear in the game I play, or maybe only in the other games. Now I get how it works.
I’m still hoping it eventually shows up in the game I play (Pokémon GO), Powerspot or not—that’s my dream, haha. I was a little bummed thinking it might not affect the game I play, but the article cleared things up.
Thanks a lot for the atention, guys!
iitc (this map of ingress portals) no longer updates with new wayfarer information. the pin you gave does put this in a empty cell from what we can see there
but the pin could have been moved in voting, or there could be wayspots that are not showing on this map. if it hasn’t been 48 hours since you got the acceptance, check back at sync time as i suggested in my first reply. it should be in approximately 3 and a half hours.
Thanks @cyndiepooh
@MrCampanatti when did you get the approval email?
If it doesnt appear in pokemon Go as a pokestop/gym later today can you show us a screenshot of the submission screen now with satellite view so we can see where the pin is and where the surrounding pins are.
We are essentially people who like to problem solve
We are currently a bit challenged because we dont have the reliable map tools we used to have but we try to help if we can.
I received it 6 days ago,
on July 30th. I waited a few days before saying anything. It really still doesn’t show up as a Pokéstop, but I also noticed that there are already about 2 wayspots very close by, just like @cyndiepooh advised. I believe that might be the reason — probably due to the cell limitation itself.
