Please HELP!
I’m new here so if this doesn’t belong here please guide me to where I should post.
While trying to contribute a wayspot I get to the taking the picture part and get the picture taken. However when I get the picture taken the pokemon go app restarts and I have to start over. I have signed out & back in. I have closed the app, cleared the cache & restarted the app. The app just keeps crashing & restarting. I have an Android 11 system.

You can take a nomination photo (main and support) and choose while nominating “existing photo”. Have you already tried that?
Hey, I have this problem also sometimes whenever the PoGO app gets updated.
What you can try if Alice’s advice doesn’t work, is reducing the quality of the photos a bit, that is what helped me sometimes
An option could be to use your phone provided Camera App to take the respective photos (main and supporting) in high, medium and as a last resort in low resolution and when it comes to nominating the Wayspot, use the existing photo. You can chose one of the 2 or 3 that you have taken in hope that one of them will upload. However, I expect to be shot down for this suggestion.

Yes, highly recommend taking the photos beforehand, and upload them as existing photos. This also allows you to take a few photos, review them, then choose the best to use. I really like to review my photos before submitting, so I also take beforehand, never in-app.
I had the same problem, mine is due to low RAM (4GB) and over strict ram management on the phone (Motorola, Android 14).
I have better success if I take the photos on the standard phone app as suggested but it would still fail as opening the Gallery to select the image would close PoGo as a background app.
When at home with wi-fi go to the games advanced settings and “Download Assets”.
Close PoGo.
Close backround apps.
Restart the phone.
Then try.
This method as taken it from occasionally working to occasionally failing.

Yes, I have tried taking a photo & then loading it in as existing photo. POGO shuts down and restarts. I’ve also tried going through my apps and force stopping a lot of them. I will again & try some of the other suggestions. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE! REALLY APPRECIATE IT!
Try reduce all setting to minimal and reduce your phone load
