Wayspot location edit not reflected in-game

Hi all, I recently edited a Pokestop’s location as it was inaccurate, the change was approved about two weeks ago but hasn’t been moved in-game.

The wayspot moved cells but the new cell was not occupied.

(The updated location is reflected on the wayfarer map, just not in-game)

Any ideas? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

If you would like us to take a look at it, we will need the title and the location. GPS coordinates are the most useful way to share that. If you don’t want to give the location for privacy issues, we can only guess.

How are you verifying cells? Often the issue is with a mistake in checking. But sometimes there can be glitches with location edits, and sometimes staff will have to do something manually. And other times there will be a property owner geoblock at the new location.

Hi,

Title: Bryant Hall Sign

Location: (-37.787355, 175.312812)

I’m checking cells using a third-party platform that has been reliable for 50+ submissions so I don’t believe that’s the issue, but if you’d like to check it’s pogomap.nz.

The Wayfarer Map shows this as a Pokestop. Is this wrong?

Yes however it’s not updated in-game.

I cannot equate your game screenshot with the map. The only powerspot is very far from this Wayspot.

As far as I can tell, it is accurate now, and the sign is on the correct side of that path? Hard to be sure but I think I can see a path in front of the sign.

The wayspot location is accurate everywhere except in the game.

The pokestop in question is circled in blue.

The red cross is where it should be (roughly), and where the wayfarer map is showing it.

The green line is the road visible on the map, which the stop should be on the opposite side of.

Pretty much it’s only Pokemon Go that’s inaccurate, wayfarer itself is correct.

I misunderstood your original question. I thought you were asking why this was not a Pokestop after the location edit. Changed the background on my map and turned off the cell highlights to better show the road that loops around. Now I see what you mean.

Maybe staff can address this. At least you do have the Pokestop while you are waiting. I think sometimes location edits just take a while to reflect in game.

Thanks for your help.

I’ve marked here what it looks like on your map, with the blue cross being where it is currently, and the green line being the same road as I marked before. Just to make it hopefully more clear.

Good tip on satellite confusing things!

If I’m right once this move kicks in, the stop will disappear? Put my pin onto where I think you’re saying it is

Edit: now I think I understand.. its showing wrong in game. I wonder why its a stop? Very strange.

Might be worth taking some clear pictures and speaking with help chat to check the location is correct?

I suspect this could be related to the period when sync was not working, and skipped edits during the sync not necessarily going through once the sync was fixed.

Similar things have happened in the past (years ago) when sync stopped working.

Thanks for the report @BubbleBunny789 ,

The PokéStop should have moved to the correct location now.
