As with a number of other posters here my local nomination was refused and the also turned down too. I nominated our local post box as there isn’t a great deal of other things in our estate that would qualify. In my opinion it met the criteria and matches a large number of other stops in the game. The appeal was turned down on the basis the post box was mass produced, i don’t know how that differs from every other post box in the game then. Any assistance would be appreciated
Welcome to the forum!
I am going to link you to this topic:
I hope it helps.
Welcome to the forum @celticdude
I used to live not far from there a few years back. Always nice to see a familiar place haha.
Cyndie has already linked you to the very long thread about our postboxes, which I also recommend having a look at, but to give you what is effectively a TLDR, Elizabeth II postboxes generally don’t meet the eligibility criteria (unless they’re painted gold due to London 2012), whilst postboxes from prior to her reign do stand a chance at being accepted.
Postboxes is one of the things that is special and unique to the UK. They are acceptable because the community accepts them, not because Niantic approve of them. In almost every country, postboxes are not wayspots.
As @hankwolfman said, regular EIIR postboxes are not eligible (the community don’t accept them); they will fail on appeal.
For me the post box i submitted is not regular-the design and structure ( ie encased in a brick pillar) is unusual -I’m not aware of another one in that style and is actually more unusual than s lot of those already approved. I’d send like is a lost cause
. Thanks for the info everyone

That is a standard design of postbox, sorry ![]()
Hi @celticdude
Welcome to the forum from me as well ![]()
I’ve moved your thread into Nomination Support because the category Wayspot Appeals is for appealing rejected removal requests or to ask for reinstating removed wayspots.
Hello @celticdude
Unfortunately the postbox will not be acceptable.
I had a look at the area via streetview and can fully appreciate your frustration. It’s a typical estate with very little other than houses. If you find anything please do ask here.
There is a possibility to look at paths nearby.
There is a kissing gate and footbridge at the end of Spring Garden Lane. There is no sign as it is not a public Right of Way but the gate and footbridge show it is a path meant to be followed and can take you over countryside to the National Trust property - the footbridge over the main road could also be submitted.
The map also shows in purple a bridleway. This should have proper signage and again this can be submitted, if there are signs to keep you on the route.
Happy to advise on how these nominations could be presented.
