Why is it so hard to get one approved? What’s that trick?
Historical House built in 1895.
Welcome to the community ![]()
If this is a private residence, specifically single-family private residential property (SFPRP), then it is categorically ineligible.
If it is a tourist attraction and not a residence, it should be eligible, but you would need to provide evidence of this.
House 4 doors down is called the white house, it’s eligible but private residence
I don’t understand this comment ![]()
House 4 doors down, white house?
Also : eligible but private residence doesn’t make sense, because SFPRP are strictly not eligible.
I’ll take a photo this evening.
If you want to provide the location, with coordinates from google maps that look like -20.89253, 4.27467, it would be possible to see how this property looks on streetview etc.
Are these the photos you used for your nomination?
Yes
Hello @TrishaGail59
This is clearly a lovely residential neighborhood. The old homes are beautiful and may have significant historic value. But if they are still being used as a residence, they will not be eligible to be a wayspot.
It’s unclear to me if the White House is already a wayspot? If so that is likely in error. Though if one or both of these is acting as a museum or similar you may be able to nominate with proof in the supplemental section.
Did you edit the colours in the pictures? They look super weird
Nicely found @LetsRollGirl
Definitely private residence and almost certainly SFPRP.
If this is a single family private residential property then this should not have been approved.
It is always worth assessing your own nominations against current criteria rather than what is in database
Hey, I found a park nearby where you can get at least 2 more wayspots and maybe a 3rd.
The red dot and white dot are each unique soccer fields in Dickinson Park.
The yellow circle is some kind of sign for the park. I can’t tell from street view what it says. It may not be eligible, but it’s certainly a better candidate than someone’s front yard.
If a house is still inhabited as a residence, it’s ineligible. If it’s used as a museum or has been converted to a business, say that. (I’ve seen places like that, houses converted to psychiatric offices for example.)
