I don’t use voice to text, but have always submitted with minimally acceptable text and then edited on my contributions page where I can use my computer instead of trying to type on a phone keyboard. We have about a 24 hour window before a nomination will be evaluated by the machine learning model and could be rejected or go into voting, but I like to put my nominations on hold as soon as I submit them to make sure I don’t forget to do the editing before it gets to that step.
I am really excited to play with this draft mode next time I find something I haven’t already submitted XD. With a normal submission, I can only edit the text, but it looks like with the draft mode, I could even move the pin or change the photo if I discover they don’t look right when I am on the bigger screen I can see better.
Just last night I was out and about looking for new nominations. I didn’t even notice the draft mode. Regarding the Discord discussion forum: I’ve had an account there for quite some time, but I can’t quite get to grips with the app. Could you send me a link?
I am not allowed to post that link on the forum anymore, but if you google “wayfarer tools” there is a link to the group there. The restriction appears to be because of the third party tools that are available there to help people do Wayfarer more accurately. The group is full of ambassadors and other people who love Wayfarer and don’t tolerate cheating, so I think it is silly that links to the group get removed here, but I will comply.
I think it’s just links to third-party websites that are an issue, not necessarily the contents of those websites. [Edit - corrected after comment below. It may just be links to websites that discuss S2 cells]
Aaron himself has removed my links to the Discord group on the forum. He has even removed screenshots showing the link, and I said I would not post them anymore.
Are you able to use a computer and optionally a mouse? You don’t have to keep nominating on location as @paulingzubat says. I also struggle A LOT in bright sunlight (vision issues), and you don’t have to keep using the Pokémon GO app to nominate either. You could do it on the Wayfarer website instead, either on a computer or a mobile, which would a) lend itself to a bigger screen or various other accessibility adjustments, b) exactly as @cyndiepooh says, let you use Draft mode in which the location pin would not be final and you could double check.
I completely understand being overwhelmed, so I am actually not sure adding external tools and features would help with that stress, but if you do need support with them, don’t hesitate to speak up anywhere on the Discord if you are already a member, people will guide you on where to go.
Count me in the bunch who hates submitting in daylight. I live in a car culture, so I often take the photos and figure out the exact placement while walking around. Then I sit in my car (maybe with screens up to block out the light) and that’s where I do my submission. And even under those conditions, I often don’t fill out the description and supplemental information. I submit it and wait to get the email notification, then switch back to Wayfarer and put it on hold until I can get back to my PC to edit.
In terms of placement, I had to learn to look at satellite while I was at the spot to know how to locate the item. Sometimes I even take a screenshot of myself represented as the little dot on Google Maps with satellite view while standing right next to the thing I’m submitting. Then I use that as the reference when I’m moving the Wayfarer submission map around to locate the pin.
I usually fill things in from the car too.
I later got it fixed (and it was slightly over the cell line), but my first submit was mispinned because I assumed the pin would be the center of the in game icon, not the pointed bit on the bottom.
I don’t think that’s true, people post links to websites all the time and they don’t get removed
I posted a link to a reddit page and that got removed, so maybe there is a new standard. I’ll be looking to see if other links are removed in the future.
