I nominated a Pokestop im 2023, nearly 2 years ago. At first it was so we can have a stop close by for me and my wife. But, throughout it getting accepted and going around the pokestop I met 4 adult players, and 7 children ages 5-13/14, one of the kids is disabled. So after seeing them play around here, they are kids and sometimes just stay in the neighborhood. But, I noticed they dont get $ to put into the game as much as I do, so me and 2 of the adult trainers will help out with lures and such. Even if I play elsewhere on community day or the Go fest I would pop a lure on it would last an entire community day or a couple for go fest. It is for them and not for me.
Well anyways this stop disappeared 3 days ago. Poof, the kids here are upset there Machop community day horrible. And it was a great pokestop.
Now let me explain the nomination that got accepted then disappeared. We have a little fountain in the middle of a small lake. There is a trail going around it and was able to be accessed to it from the trail on both North and South from the fountain. If you go East or West you walk further from the stop. But, it was great because you can spin on North or South and by the time you get to the other side you can spin again. It was a great stop, great for relaxing walking, excercising, walking a dog, playing, socializing. And now it is gone. All Wayfairer says is it does not meet the criteria. What criteria, if it works why stop it, why hurt children and a disabled kid? I was shocked to get that response. And there was 0 complaints at all on the stop I checked.
What can I do to help these kids? And myself I enjoyed the stop very much? Can I reupload the stop what else by lakes can I use as stops? Theres 2 benches, 2 signs, and a dog bag holder. Can those be used? Just trying to help and it frustrates me Niantic and Scopely give 0 cares about the players.
Hello, you can see the Acceptance, Eligibility and Rejection Criteria for Wayfarer here.
which would be useful to know. It also includes the additional Criteria Clarifications such as that one about Pond Aerators.
These need to be one of:
A great place for exercise
A great place for exploration
A great place for being social with others
The dog bag holder wouldn’t qualify at all. As for the benches and signs, it really depends. You can share more information if you want to, and people here will be able to offer further advice.
Hello and Welcome @Cradleknot1521
As others have said the original stop is not eligible.
But let’s try to help and see if there is anything else that might be suitable.
Can you supply some pictures of the area or say where it is ( if you are comfortable ) so we can see if we can help.
It sounds like a sizeable pond lake in the middle of a residential area.
If the benches are ordinary benches they are not acceptable but if there is a nice view from the bench then it might act as an anchor point.
Are any of the benches picnic benches? A place designed to be a picnic area is a good social space.
Are there any signs for encouraging walking a trail around the lake?
If this is a good community facility can you talk to the management of the facility to see if they would allow a little free library to be sited maybe next to a bench? This would be great for both the game and the wider community.
The actual pond aerators you are refering too inside the lake of course is unsafe to acess. But, what bothers me is that since Niantic made the stop distance to spin incressed. So there is a gate around the lake, and you can access it in a safe place as me and 12 other trainers have for 2 years. Possibly more that I never encountered. As far as signs I may need to see what they are.
Yes I can take some photos, there are several benches that are around the lake, 1 does habe a great view if the sunset, and the lake itself. As far as the other stuff you mentioned they are already stops, however they are further away. This stop was in a location that when routes came along was great because the routes led to a dog park, center, pool and a sign.
The last piece of the puzzle is that these wayspots, once accepted, can be used in a variety of current and future games. And not all the games have such a large interaction distance.
I’d recommend sharing the information that @elijustrying requested and hopefully we can find something else for a wayspot!
Ok sorry but the signs are not good as they aren’t places you would want to go to.
The Bench is ordinary, but instead of a photo of the bench is there a nice view from it in a number of directions?
Another Little Free Library would be good.
Or if there was a good spot a get the community involved in building a bug hotel ( not a small one you can just buy) great for kids to see, and great for the local eco
Ogy.
Could the management company put up some wildlife signs?
The view would be the lake itself. The sunset would be nice and just the sky in general. But, there are buildings and trees around. Not sure if the scenary can include buildings. Would that work. Mind you this is just a lake with a path around it. Also, what type of wildlife signs would work? Are there examples?
You might not find exact examples like these, but here are a few including one similar to the idea about submitting the bench. You’ll notice the binocular sign in the foreground of the bench.
