I have definitely used “erase reflections” on mine.
Generally I agree with this take, but it’s different than the “altering photos to remove a person’s face isn’t allowed” take prior.
The guidance on [ineligible photos] is
Obviously edited or doctored photos
That’s going to have different meaning for many of us and I’ve argued with friends I generally trust and agree with over our differing opinion on the matter. I’m not going to accept (or ever suggest) somebody “erase” a head and leave the body front & center. If the adjustment can be made in a way that isn’t obvious or distracting, I think that’s fine. If the edit is completely unnoticeable, then nobody is the wiser.
There’s a slight imperfection in the edit above that I had to zoom in to see but now I can’t un-see. “Best judgement” and whatnot, I wouldn’t fault anyone for approving or rejecting the example.
This is a really useful discussion and it is not about an appeal of the type this section deals with, so I am moving this to the General Discussion area so that it will seen more widely.
Hi
In this thread we’ve talked about the magic eraser previously:
Oooh I’ve been to that museum, Malta’s a lovely place but I think I only found a single wayspot when I was there are almost everything else has been submitted.
On the face… just because you can’t see it in the current Niantic games, doesn’t mean that you’ll not see it in the future. The simplest option is to blur or pixelate it (I tend to use the latter). You’re not materially changing the picture, and I’ve seen other submitters do the same.
Strictly speaking, the car is showing its licence plate, which might also be a cause for rejection. Logically, it’s a museum exhibit that’s permanently at that museum rather than a private vehicle as such.
Not sure the car is actually a permanent fixture on the pavement. Surprisingly, it’s not actually a Bugatti at all but a Teal (see https://skyblueteal.com/teal-news-14-from-may-2016/), I don’t think you’d leave a Bugatti out overnight, but this is a replica basically.
