When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:
- Wayspot Title: La marguerite
- Location (lat/lon): 45.771307,4.885377
- City: VILLEURBANNE
- Country: FRANCE
- Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):
- Additional Information (if any): Hello,
I recently created a Wayspot which was validated and accepted.
However, someone with malicious intent has had my PokéStop removed, probably claiming it was fake, even though it is real thanks to photos I took and also appears on Google Maps photos dating from May 2024.
Could you find the person making the cancellation requests and reinstate this validated PokéStop?
Thank you for your response.

Welcome to the forums
This painting is definitely showing on streetview, but it is better to be less accusatory, since you cannot be sure that it was malicious intent unless you know beyond doubt who did it and why.
Someone making a removal request does not mean it will be automatically removed. Niantic look at the request and the evidence before removing a wayspot.
This is less substantial than most murals on utility boxes. It is possible it was created solely to add a wayspot. Is there anything else like this in this area? Are there any websites for this artist?
The utility box murals I see can almost always be found online, as the artists are proud of them.
Hello and welcome @RubyRhod69100
Unless you have proof of malicious intent please avoid making that assumption.
For the team to act on a removal they need to have proof.
For reinstatement you will need to provide up to date photos of the location that are geotagged. A couple of photos that show the art work and its surroundings clearly.
I would also question if this is legal art or vandalism
Sorry, indeed.
I spoke with the main players in Lyon, and the conclusion is likely that it’s someone with malicious intent, as this has already happened recently to try and reclaim an arena.
In any case, I can take time-stamped photos, but I don’t know if they’re geolocatable.
Question: Should I post them here?
Thanks for your replies
Hello.
No, it’s a legal artwork dating back to at least May 2024 (Street View), and there was recent roadwork with a new surface. The design has remained intact.
There aren’t many works like this, and it’s always daisies here and there.
I don’t know if the artist is listed online.
Yes you should post here. Phone do this routinely. Make sure you can keep the geo data attached - it is normally ok.
Another way is to use an app that watermarks the date and location on the photo. GPSmapcamera is a free app.
You can load them here and if there is any issue the wayfarer team will say.
They do remove wayspots that they consider to be vandalism rather than art so if you can find anything to demonstrate that this is ok it will help.
Hello, I’m back with the photos I took this morning of the waypoint.
In addition to the ones above regarding the validation evidence, I’ve attached photos of the area near and far from the location.
Thank you for your valuable advice; I hope this resolves the problem and its causes.
Thank you that is a good set of recent pictures for the team.
If you can find anything over the weekend that can validate it as art as opposed to vandalism that will strengthen your case.
It will take some time for it to be reviewed so be patient.
Hello,
After a day of searching, it turns out that many graffiti and murals aren’t listed online, except at competitions or specialized events where the most famous graffiti artists compete.
First, here’s a large mural that’s been verified on Wayspot but doesn’t appear anywhere else online.
Others are present in the same location and are also unlisted…
Furthermore, the vandalism graffiti, often on doors or walls, is usually just meaningless scribbles or political messages. The city has a service for cleaning up this type of protest graffiti.
An example of a recent cleanup (in gray) of graffiti related to Palestine.
Regarding my proposed waypoint, the artist created another daisy in the same area, but it’s also not listed. The city council allows graffiti and murals to remain as long as they have a decorative, artistic, or aesthetic purpose.
Here is the information I can provide to demonstrate my good faith and honesty regarding my proposals.
Thank you for your advice and assistance in restoring the Wayspot account, which was deleted despite its approval.
Edit : Sorry for english by Google translate
Thanks for the appeal, @RubyRhod69100. We have taken another look but stand by our decision to retire this Wayspot.
