When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:
Wayspot Title: Deere Avenue Play Area
Location (lat/lon): 51.440958,-2.140698
City: Corsham Chippenham
Country: UK
Additional Information (if any):
Ticket no: 41667860
Attemted to used Help Chat to fix a location on a wayspot but instead they removed it. Satellite does not show the park just the spot where it was built. expect wayspot was originally nominated before satellite showed modern development at all. Bing show WIP, Google the houses are built. street view shows the park. please reinstate.
This is indeed the incorrect location of the wayspot (which is still showing on the maps) and streetview definitely shows it at the location @tomwe is trying to move it to
(If you don’t get a reinstatement before it drops off the map entirely, I would just resubmit. It has streetview so would be as much of a certainty as it is possible to get.)
I found this while reviewing someone attempting a 10m edit in-game which only got it so close. There’s no reason it should be removed so no need to resubmit.
I agree, but it would be the pragmatic solution if Niantic don’t provide the correct one. Of course, if you’re not close (I was assuming you were!) then it’s not a very useful solution!
I made that mistake once when I found a wayspot in the middle of a river instead of at the edge (where the POI actually existed). I submitted an edit to move it as close as I could, intending to move it again later, because that is the obvious thing to do when you find you can only move 10m. Using Help Chat, which is the correct thing to do, is not remotely obvious to casual players.
It would be an awful outcome if a genuine attempt to correct an eligible wayspot resulted in it being removed.
And it’s already showing on the wayfarer map at Deere Avenue Play Area (51.441301,-2.140921). I didn’t think the wayfarer map updated that quickly.
