Wayspot submissions in queue for 2 weeks

Is there a reason why they seem to be stuck in queue. Is there any way I can get it out of queue and into voting?

You can earn upgrades for your nominations by reviewing yourself. When applied, they are designed to send your nominations to a wider review pool. This would normally send them into voting having been in queue this long, unless you are somewhere in the world that just doesn’t have many people reviewing. Would you like to give us an idea of where you are located? Just in general.

Good to know!

As @cyndiepooh has stated, the best way to progress your nominations is to do an upgrade. However saying that, the progress from queue to voting to approval / rejection has slowed down of late. I don’t know why, other than it being awesome whether outside.

So to clarify, the upgrade works even if it’s in queue? I was always told it only worked when the nomination was in voting.

I am located in the upper United States

You can apply it when it’s in the queue. It will extend the availability of the nomination to a wider audience… unless the rules have changed since I applied an upgrade.

Ok didnt know it worked in queue lol. Would there be any reason that it hasn’t gone into the voting pool yet? Is it best to just keep waiting or risk an upgrade?

There’s no definitive explanation that I can offer as to why. But we could speculate that there aren’t enough people locally who are currently reviewing.

Also to clarify, I’m talking about them being in queue, not in voting. I don’t think they’ve reached anyone to be reviewed yet.

there has been a grace period observed where a nomination just will not go into voting, even with an upgrade. some people feel certain that applying an upgrade while a nomination is still in that unknowable grace period will actually prevent the nomination from going into voting. (i have not experienced that, but i am not a high volume submitter.) so that is why we have said that you are safe to apply the upgrade once it is in voting. but grace period has been observed to be 1-7 days, and at two weeks, you are certainly out of grace period.

So this is an anomaly. I wonder if it has anything to do with other wayspots in voting near my submissions. I feel like I’ve heard that they can sometimes be held in queue so as not to risk multiple wayspots being submitted and accepted of the same thing.

yes the wayfarer discussion discord has an infographic posted from way back where proximity block has been observed. actually the last comment i made was based on this infographic as well.

please note that these are observations by explorers participating in wayfarer, not announcements from niantic that this is how or why it works.

others have been reporting a general slowdown, too. i am not submitting enough these days to notice, but @niktero has reported that it feels like something has changed, at least in more rural areas. Significant delays in Aragon, Spain: Nominations stuck "In Voting" for months - #5 by niktero

Out of curiosity do you have any submissions currently in voting within a block or 2 of the ones in queue? If so then they probably are blocking these. They should move into voting once the nearby ones get a decision. Also how long have the others been in voting?

Thanks, that’s really good to know. I’ve checked at my current nominations in voting nearby and none seem to be close to the ones in queue (within the 9 level 17 cells). Guess the only other option then is that someone else submitted one. We don’t seem to have a big submitting community though so I’d be shocked. I’ll just keep waiting then. Thanks for the help

There are some nominations somewhat nearby, however they are in neighboring level 14 cells and not very close to the nominations in queue.

Update: some of my submissions that were in queue are now in voting. I upgraded one of my other submissions that I guess was near enough to affect them (it was much farther than the 9 level 17 cells around it, so maybe it’s just coincidental). Now that that submission has resolved the flow is moving once again.
